That's exactly what I was planning on doing, so I'll head to the mountains near the forest and look for a suitably small cave to be a home for our group. I'll try be cautious about dangers in the caves though.

The home you have is fine but it just barely holds your group. That isn't the only concern, the junkyard has gotten a bad rep among the other animals so food has mostly been the rodents.

You find plenty of caves and conveniently they all have tunnels that open to a glacier that is surrounded by a lake. After a good amount of searching you find one that is empty but it is a little far from the forest.

The machine takes two days to build and will act as a den as you travel. The first day or travel takes you out of your home and through some grasslands that have plenty of food. The stream stays on your right and acts as a marker that will lead you back to your home. After four days of travel the grasslands seam to have no end. The others think they should head home and just get use to coming out here to hunt.

It takes a couple of days to make the caves all yours but it is worth it. For now you can eat the animals you killed while you made the caves yours. This is good news cause two of your group got injured and will take a couple of days before they are up to hunting.
