SIGN UP HERE!
Ask me for your first (and future) quests. You can specify what sort of thing you want to do - venture into a cave, go hunting for treasure, purge the woods of monsters - but I assign you your actual quest. (If you dislike the quest I give you, talk to me and I'll give you a new one. Also - say why you don't want it.)

When you receive your quest, you get to say how you complete it. Creativity and style help. (You don't have to be good at questing - humour is creative and will mean you did better than a simple and boring *block attack, slash enemy* sort of thing.)

You can complete your quest in parts - if you want, I can tell you what each part is (just a general guide: when you finish a part, I'll then tell you what your next one is - but not in much detail, that's up to you. You can label your sections - find cave, explore cave, loot cave, fight boss - it might make it easier for you.)

MORE STYLE AND CREATIVITY = MORE EXPERIENCE AND BETTER LOOT!
If you want good weapons and armour, than you need to earn it. Experience - if you aren't very good, you can't beat tougher enemies. I won't allow it.

NO FIGHTING DRAGONS ETC ON YOUR FIRST QUEST.
You need to be better before trying against tougher enemies... Or you'll die.
HOWEVER, you can walk near a demon lord's lair or something similar in your quest, as long as you don't fight it. If you sneak past it and are almost killed when it notices you, it counts as creativity.

As you progress, you might want to tell me how good you are. If there are lots of people posting, I won't remember what your skills and equipment are like, and might not give you a good quest.

REMEMBER, the point of this is to enjoy yourself (not necessarily the hero - you, behind the computer screen) and to be creative!

THIS IS A MYTHICAL STYLE GAME - swords, bows, spells, creatures, goblins, rat, trolls, orcs, bears, demons, dragons - so keep that in mind. Don't pull out a shotgun - it's cheating.

Enjoy yourselves and have fun!

One other thing - other players.
You can go to the same places as them - but limited interaction is allowed. No fighting against / with them, no stealing etc, nothing that is basically against what the game should be like.

You can say that you saw them fighting or something like that, but don't say that they dropped their weapon or that you looted something from something they killed.

You can walk up to something they killed - but you aren't allowed to use other players for your advantage.

You can't trade, BUT ask me if you both really want to - I'll consider trading, I'm just not sure about allowing it yet.

ANOTHER THING:

Feel free to choose what sort of character you are - strengths and weaknesses. THEY HAVE TO MAKE SENSE AND BE FAIR.
Stealthy, yet weak; strong, yet lacking in speed and magic ability - whatever makes it fair and makes sense.
You can be good at sword fighting and magic - just remember, you need weak points as well as strong ones.

Hello, people of the Forum Games. It's me Garriss, been inactive for some while. Anyway Zar1n, I think you have a great idea there. Personally, I haven't really had good RPGs/RPs. Though from all the Forum Games I played, why don't you have a simple character sheet at the least? Maybe like this:

Name: (Medieval-Fantasy Name)
Quests Completed: (Numbers, like 1,2 or 3 quests completed)
Strengths: (Self-explanatory)
Weaknesses: (Self-explanatory)
Achievements: (Do you plan to have any special awards or medals?)

Anyway, I think this is really great so I will join.

Ok, thanks for the sheet. This is my first forum game, although I've looked at some other ones made by other people.

Name: (whatever you want to call yourself - username, invented name, name that fits your character... it's your choice.)
Quests completed:
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Loot:
Experience:

Gariss, if you fill out the sheet and specify what sort of quest you'd like, I can give you one when you're ready.

You are in the land of Thallian, in a small town in the South-West called Eiridnall.

You are walking back to the local Inn after visiting the Tavern, when you notice a sign attached to the wall of the Town Hall.

"ADVENTURER NEEDED.
Family heirloom lost in cave north of Eiridnall.
Cave name is believed to be 'Tracker's Den'.
Monsters inside presumed weak.
Heirloom is a silver pate with exotic design.
If found, deliver to Sakara's Mansion in Forallshead.
REWARD: 150 Gold Pieces."

Forallshead is South-West of Eiridnall, joined by a road that is usually free of danger.

The path leading to Tracker's Den is fairly safe, with a chance of encountering rats or other minor creatures.

GOOD LUCK!

Dear Game Master Zar1n,
I am sorry for any inconvenience this might cause to you but currently a lot of projects and scripts had been handed over to me by my group members. Thus, I cannot play as much as I can. I don't even have enough time to do one paragraph. Thank you in the future if you accept this and I am sorry if you don't. Anyway, I hope this Forum Game is still up.

A Player of your Forum Game,
Garriss

By the way, all of the quests are in Thallian.

It's ok Gariss, feel free to play if you have the time.

You are near the centre of Thallian, slightly north of the main city, Rangor. You are in a town called Yolensvale with a good economy that survives on trade. Because it is so near to Rangor, it is fairly prosperous and has many rich merchants constantly passing through.

You are feeling bored. You haven't had any good battles for ages, and your abilities are starting to wane. You wish to seek an adventure, but nothing seems to need doing and Thallian has been quite peaceful for over a decade now.

But all of that is soon to change.

You are browsing in the market, seeing if there might be anything of interest, such as weapons, armour or something else that could help in a fight. However, everything is quite expensive, and you have quite little money on you.

You are just leaving one of the displays when the owner of the shop motions to you. You look up, and he repeats his gesture, beckoning you closer. You step forward, intrigued, and he moves his head close to your ear.

"I have a little problem that needs to be taken care of", he says. "If you are interested, meet me at midnight at the docks."

1st step: make your way to the docks. A thief ambushes you, yet you notice him and draw your sword when he approaches.

When you arrive at the docks, the shopkeeper reveals that he is a member of an organisation that keeps Thallian safe. They make sure that nothing happens to upset the peace... which is exactly why he needs you.

There is a group of bandits inside a house in one of the shadier districts of Yolensvale. There are 3 of them, spread throughout the house. If you sneak in tonight, you can catch them unawares, granting an easy kill.

However, because of the area they are in, you might have a little difficulty in getting to and from the building.

If you complete this quest, you will be accepted into the group, whose identity has not yet been revealed to you.

Right, 2 quests.

mechninja:
Sir Hardivek III

You are venturing alone one of the many roads in the north-east of Thallian, looking for a few caves or monsters. There aren't many around, and no one ever has any trouble with them any more, but occasionally you come across a wolf or two.

Today, however, you notice something dark to your right. You glance in that direction and notice that there is a cave nearby. You decide to venture towards it in hope of loot or treasure - or maybe even a good fight. You never know, you might be lucky...

As was mentioned in the previous quest, the peace of the land is beginning to wane. Soon, more difficult monsters will start to appear, and in greater numbers. This isn't happening much yet, but caves, lairs and monsters are beginning to show up more often.

So far, there have only been a few rats and caves, as well as some wild animals or minor creatures. Bandits and thieves are also popping up with greater frequency.

You might wonder how caves and suchlike might appear around the land... A good question, to which the answer may or may not be provided.

However, this shall be said: the land is approaching a dark time, and worse things are appearing. Later, mage towers may be seem to come out of nowhere, and you may be sure that there had been nothing there before...

Beware. The darkness is approaching.

You live in a small village in the south-east of Thallian called Fornsreath. It is relatively separated from the rest of Thallian, due to the distance from everywhere else. News takes a long time to travel here, but it doesn't matter, as no trouble ever comes to Fornsreath.

You are out hunting for deer in the woods to the south of the village when you hear a growling noise nearby. You stop, startled, as there is normally nothing dangerous in the area nearby, not even wolves or bears. However, the growl did sound rather... bearlike.

You are unsure of where the growl came from, and peer around you. Suddenly, you spot it - a large brownish shape, directly in front of you, and you have a sneaking suspicion that there might be worse enemies nearby...

Either:
1) Fight the bear and
a) Fight more enemies, possibly leading to a lair
b) Run to the village to warn them
2) Flee, and
a) Run into an ambush
b) Manage to run away
You can do something else, and if you choose one of these PLEASE make it creative and continue it on... use your imagination. Ie: village is overrun; novice mage is summoning creatures; trapped lair... whatever, as long as it is interesting.

FOR EVERYONE:
These are just ideas, if you decide that changing something I tell you in the quest will make it better, feel free to do so as long as you tell me what you have done.

If I ever miss or forget anything, just tell me.

I take out my bow and an arrow. I fire the arrow at the bear and I duck behind a tree listening for a reaction

Sorry, I was away for a few days.

Cardibard, what I meant with the quests was for a longer story, not an RPG where I tell you everything.
I will continue with your quest, but next time can you please make the answer longer?

Jace Shaderly

The bear whimpers in pain, and lets out a fierce roar before collapsing to the ground. You are surprised, as normally a bear would not die so easily.

You walk over to the bear and examine it. It was wounded in a previous battle, and was easier to kill than you had expected.

As you were examining the bear, you realise that you had just presented any other nearby enemies with an opportunity to sneak up on you... You stand up and spin around, ready to fight any other creatures nearby... If, in fact, there are even any left.
