Because the world would become overpopulated, and eventually everyone would be living in a comatose state between life and death where it's basically death without the heart and the brain, etc. not working. The brain possibly having dreams, if not, only telling everything to keep living. When it runs out of power, the virus brings it back to life and the cycle continues. This itself is a paradox because they'll have no nutrients so nothing can live. But they can't die. That scenario was if every time they came back to life they get a little energy. If the virus didn't when it brought them back to life then they're basically brain dead.
