The night was cold. It was darker than any other nights. The wind blew stronger and stronger by the hour. Some of the trees even submitted themselves to the wind. Leaves were left on the ground. Patches of mud were formed without notice. No one wandered Klensburg. The lamps were not working. Only a few twitched with heat and light. The homes lacked people to stay. Rats rushed through the streets, striving for garbage to feast upon. Klensburg was abandoned. No one was here but one person.
A traveler came from East, the city of revolution. Rose was a girl of fifteen. She was raised by the royal family. She opposed her father who was against her travelling to the Darkness region. She snapped back at her father with anger and rebelliously left his father's office, leaving the father dazed. She packed equipment, gadgets and food, and left through the window in her room.
Rose's footsteps echoed throughout Klensburg. It was rumoured that Klensburg never experienced day, but only night. The ground was not fertile enough to grow wheat and plants. The Darkness region was dry. Clouds were scarce and rain came rarely. Even if water droplets appear from the sky, it would only last a minute.
She walked, foot by foot, cautious to her surroundings. Owls hooted and crows flapped their wings as Rose got closer to them. They shocked Rose once, but not twice.
She accidentally stepped on a puddle, but moved on without complaining. Rose was the daughter of the mayor in the city. She was energetic, ambitious and outgoing. She wanted an adventure she would never forget. After finding out about the Darkness region in her History class, she talked to her friends about it, but she was ignored. Days went by with anxiety and curiosity growing inside her. Everyone shunted her that day, but she had her maids to talk to. She was oblivious to the maids pretending to care for her, though. For the past few months, she had been searching for the Darkness region through her father's telescope, but no fruits bore. Every other week, she asked her father if she could go there, but every time she asked, he refused. With every week, she grew more courageous and rebellious with her father. The fateful day they had the argument was the day she escaped. She was wearing a brown leather shirt with brown leather pants. She wore leather boots to fit with her clothes. On her face was a mask worn over. It only allowed her to see through her right eye. But she cared less about it than her journey to and in the Darkness region.
She laid her hand on a wooden door and pushed it open. The door creaked and whined. She sneaked her head into the door of the gap and jumped. She jerked back and the door broke down. She stepped back and a beast was revealed. Concrete was flying all over the place. Dust scattered and splinters lay on the ground. A head was revealed when the dust floated down to the ground. The rest was slowly revealed. Its head had teeth sharper than any grinder in East. It had ears and a nose as black as the night.
It growled at Rose's face.

Rose was catching her breath. She was in a room as big as a blimp that scouted the city for any danger. At times, she missed East and its wonders of technology, but the time was not now.
Rose set her gadgets down. Her backpack consisted of a grappling hook and a blast gun that is capable of shooting a spread of bullets. It needed energy in forms of solar, heat and wind, as energy is used to transform into the bullets, or so she had learned from her teacher. She took out an axe and wore a glove. The axe and the glove had a special connection. Rose had no idea how they were made together. She sneaked into her father's weaponry and saw an axe mounted on a pedestal along with a glove around the hilt. She was not aware of its history, as she was never taught that specific weapon in school. She hesitated, but changed her mind to take it. It was a month ago, but she remembered it like it was yesterday. The axe had a unique blade built into it. It curved, then turned a sharp corner away from the hilt wrapped in a material that she never knew about. The glove, on the other hand, had a button situated in the middle of the palm. When she was trying out her weapon the next day in her room, she had trouble at first, but she trained each day and got better at it. When the button was released, the axe would return to the glove like magic. When pressed, the axe may go wherever the owner wants it to go.
Rose grabbed the axe and got ready, grabbing her grappling hook in her left hand and positioning herself.
When she ran from the beast just now, which was fully in black fur, she noted the places she will have to go to. Everyone accounted her a queer person, but they could not deny her analyzing and problem-solving skills.
She definitely took her chances when she ran outside and met the beast face-to-face metres away from each other. She did not look at the beast, but the perch she wanted to reach. She aimed her grappling hook and pulled the trigger. The hook flew and grabbed onto the perch. She released and held on, and, like the hook, flew and landed. Rose did not know that this perch was the edge of a building.
The beast was already running when she was flying. The claw it swung missed her by inches, and roared at her. Rose saw it hunch back.
She ran and heard a crash behind her as the beast landed on the building. She turned back, but still running at the same direction, and threw her axe. She did not need to remember to press the button. It was her habit now. The axe twirled like a bullet and smashed the beast's nose back. Rose heard a crack and released her fingers. The axe flew back into the glove without mistakes. The beast was stunned. She smiled, but kept on running.
Too happy that she did not realize she plunged into a hole.
Her right eye opened.
The area was dark, but somehow humid, according to Rose. She could already see a bit of this place, but it was still unknown to her. She felt the ground and picked herself up, along with her grappling hook. She tensed at the moment she remembered the beast, but relaxed a second later. Her backside felt painful, but not to a point that she could not move. The ground was rocky, rough and hard.
A cave was what she would have guessed, but she was not sure. She threw her axe like a boomerang and it came back to her without knocking anything. She relied on her axe like it was her companion. She grew more and more attached to the weapon as hours went by, training with real effort.
She kept swinging her axe and catching it back as she walked. Once, she stepped on a jagged stone and shrieked as the stone pained her foot. She kicked it sideways using the side of her boot. It hopped away swiftly.
Her axe hit something. Something hard. She thought it was a dead end, when she felt the wall and found a door knob. She was puzzled by it. The door knob was wet with the humidity in this supposed cave. She turned it and pushed it open.
She heard a moan beyond the door. She could see a figure, but that was all. She stepped back, to be safe. As she stepped backwards, the moan got louder until it was qualified as a shout. Experimentally, she went forward. The shout turned into the same moan, softer and softer. The figure, whom she determined was a male teenager, could see her from outside. She wondered how. She changed her mind, risking her own safety for her curiosity. She stepped forward once again and opened the door. The figure stood in front of her, inches apart. She was right about her determination. He was about the same height as Rose and he did not look frail or weak at all. In fact, he looked healthy. But she could not see his face.
That was all she could identify when he grabbed her with open arms, catching her off guard. He pulled her whole body to his and they went behind the door. He kicked the door shut.
Rose was outraged when he did that, when the black beast came crashing into the supposed cave, which, revealed by the moonlight, was actually just a room with rocky surfaces. Rose's right eye looked at the boy. His face looked so innocent and Rose felt both thankful and sorry for him. He had a look that Rose found attractive, but she had no time to fall in love. The beast was outside.
She got up immediately and pulled the boy up to his feet. Her right eye, which was adjusted to the darkness now, saw a small trail ahead. She took the boy's hand and moved, with the boy stumbling almost every step. The beast crashed through the wall and roared. It boomed throughout the mysterious room as Rose got her axe ready. She lifted her axe, but the boy pushed her arm down. She did not protest, though. The boy lifted his arm instead and let a light pulse from his palm. A mysterious force pushed the beast back a few metres. It staggered backwards, then fell to the ground.
Then there was a roar of pain as the jagged stone Rose stumbled upon earlier pierced through the skin of the beast.
Rose smiled underneath her mask and began to trust this boy. They went around a corner and hid in a small and perfect hiding spot. She asked for his name in East language. Surprisingly, he understood.
His name was Kogh. He was from East as well, but he was made a clone for experiments. He was required to take an extreme amount of pills unknown to him. Then, scientists would experiment on his health, but mostly on his performance in fighting. The pills he took granted him a certain power. It was a successful experiment. But that was just one they had done. They had a lot more experiments in queue for him. Clones did not have emotions. But the power he obtained also granted a conscious. Emotions. And most importantly, the will to be free.
Rose had heard of cloning, but that was just a rumour. She had not known that was true. Maybe her father had been keeping some secrets from her. Or that he did not even know himself. She asked more, like how he escaped and what his powers do. He smiled sadly and shook his head. The memories hurt him, especially the moment he found out he was just going to be used as a weapon. Rose nodded her head slowly and apologetically, understanding how he felt.
The time passed for a few hours. They started to sweat a few minutes later. They had not heard the beast for quite some time.
Rose thought it was dead. But Kogh had a suspicion that the beast was still here, but injured. Rose took out her blast gun and flicked the safety switch off. She was confident, but Kogh was cautious.
Kogh was reluctant, but he nodded to Rose, and they started off.
The monster was out there, somewhere. Rose was practically running around in the maze of a room, with zigzag paths and sharp turns. Kogh was trying to sense the beast as he walked through a path. Finding it was tedious. The beast was suddenly silent this time, maybe because it was hurt, but Rose was getting bored by the second. Kogh was still cautious and his eyes were wide open, to the point of madness. His eyes were constantly moving left and right, even if he was looking at walls of concrete.
Rose heard a pebble being kicked away. She quickly positioned her blast gun at the source of the sound. Sweat trickled down her face as she prepared for the beast to jump out of the corner. But it was just a rat that jumped out of the corner. Rose loosened her shoulder at that moment, letting her blast gun hang loose from her fingers.
She heard another sound, but something different, like the ground being clawed onto. She turned around and saw the beast already in the air, lunging at her. She grinned mischievously as she took her blast gun up. She ran towards the beast, then lowered herself into a roll, moving under the beast as it crashed onto the dirt. She got up as quick as possible and pulled her trigger. The energy shots were fired and they traveled towards the beast. Its cranium was pierced, over and over, from the spread of the energy shots. Kogh appeared behind the beast and sent an invisible force. Something thin and long. Rose saw a hole appear on its abdomen as it fell to the ground, yielding.
Rose smiled at Kogh and he returned it. The beast had tender meat in it. Plus, they could use the fur for coats. She immediately took our her glove with the axe and kept away her blast gun. She walked casually towards the beast and was ready to swing her axe. The beast opened its jaws and ripped Rose's foot off. Then the beast fell and died, finally.
She shrieked as the blood spilled from her ankle and the boot, along with the foot, were eaten. She dropped to the ground on her backside and threw her axe towards its face. Its sharp teeth were broken into pieces enough to scratch its tongue until it bled.
Kogh ran over to help out, using the force to stop her leg from bleeding. He took off his T-shirt and tore a part of it. He used it as a temporary bandage until he found a new one. The blood slowly spread throughout the cloth, turning it blood red. Kogh took Rose out of the area and hid in the same hiding spot. The shirt soaked too much blood that the path they went through had a trail of red.
Without permission, Kogh went through her backpack and found a grappling hook. He nodded, then carried her on his back. He went back to where he moaned and noticed the crashed wall. He struggled, but managed until he saw a hole that allowed some light in. With one arm holding Rose and the other holding the grappling hook, he fired, but the first attempt was a failure. He almost had it by the third attempt. The fourth attempt was successful, the hook stabbing into the concrete ceiling outside. He did not know how to make the rope retract, so he threw the gun of the grappling hook into the hole and pushed himself forward with force and reached the hole. His right hand grabbed into the edge. He pulled himself up, glad that the hole was big enough for both of them.
With the remains of his shirt, he blanketed her with the shirt and laid on the concrete, sighing with relief. Now, it is only a matter of time until he found something else to recover her foot. Maybe with a mechanical foot. The Darkness region was never known for technology. It was a region of death, darkness and corruption. The beast was one of the monsters of corruption, but he realised that it was the simplest monster of all. There were more than monsters of corruption. There were monsters of death and darkness. He shuddered at the thought and promised Rose out loud, even though she fainted, that he would be strong enough to keep both of them alive, provided Rose does the same. He laughed at the second part of the promise, even though it was serious.
He stood guard and looked out for anything in the bright moonlight.
Kogh sat on the concrete edge of the roof. His legs were swaying around in a lazy movement. He was swaying with his legs, but in different directions. The cool breeze touched his bare chest and it felt soothing to him. Back then, when Kogh did not wield the mysterious power, he was mindless and without any thoughts. He was like a baby, or even less intelligible. He was a clone, after all. His memories could not go further into that detail of being created. Things he could remember, like when he took his first experimental pill or withstanding a block of metal slamming into him, were vague. But he knew that a sliver of power from the pills entered his brains and activated it.
His back and head jerked up as he heard someone moan. It was Rose's voice. He turned his head and went to her while inspecting her body. Rose still had her foot missing and most of the blood dried up in the torn cloth. He saw Rose open her eyes, then closed. He quickly walked over to her face and scrutinised it. Nothing was wrong. But she woke up too early to be able to recover from the pain she had experienced. It was only a few minutes ago.
There was a sharp cry coming from one of the buildings. Kogh was not sure. But he was sure that the sharp cry woke up Rose. She got up like lightning and realised her foot was torn off by the black beast. Kogh looked at her foot and he blasted himself off the ceiling to another building without telling her anything.
Rose called him back, but he was too far away to be able to hear her. He was already a few blocks away. She laid back on the hard ceiling. She sighed and wondered why she chose Klensburg instead of another unnamed town.
There was another sharp cry, but it was louder and nearer. Rose got up again and looked around for her backpack. It was used as a pillow for her. She smiled and searched the backpack for the blast gun. She flicked the safety switch off and turned her head back and front. There was no sign of any monsters of corruption yet. Cold sweat trickled down her face as she brought her weapon back and forth. There was no sign of Kogh either.
Then she thought the monster had gotten Kogh. She started freaking out and knelt on both knees. She convinced herself that she needed to get out of here as soon as possible. She grabbed her backpack, dropped her blast gun on the floor and wrestled her backpack for the grappling hook.
There was the third sharp cry and it came much nearer this time. Her spine jerked up and her hands reached for the blast gun. She turned around and saw a monster of six limbs. On its back, it had a scorpion-like tail, with a sharp edge at the end of it. Its mouth was coloured in blood and its eyes were pure white.
It rushed towards Rose like a ghost and was about to stab its tail into Rose when she pulled the trigger on the blast gun. The energy pellets went flying and they knocked the monster back a few feet. She saw blue liquid dripping from the monster. It let out the same cry and thrust its tail at Rose.
Rose took aim and fired. Some of the pellets missed and they traveled to the night sky. But some of them pierced through and pushed the tail back as if Kogh pushed at the air with his power, even though the effect was not full. The monster stagger backwards awkwardly. It suddenly shed its skin and its skin inside was blue, even the tail. It then charged, its pacing limbs padding against the floor. She shot her blast gun at the monster again, but this time, it felt nothing, like it had super armour. She cast her second shot, but it still could not work.
Rose took a deep breath. She should have listened to her father. She puffed out a tone of happiness and sadness infused together. She closed her eyes shut and braced for impact. But she could only heard the monster whine and screech again. Then, an impact on the ceiling that caused a gigantic hole. It went crashing into the cave Rose went into.
It was Kogh who sent a wave of force to the monster's side. Rose opened her eyes and saw Kogh in front of her. She was not surprised; she was smiling with tears rolling down her cheeks. She wrapped her arms around Kogh and stayed this way for a long time.
Her mask was wet with tears. It laid on the floor, swinging back and forth due to its curved shape. Rose took a look at her blast gun while Kogh prepared for sleep. Rose was taking first watch, so she would blame herself if she did not prepare well. In five minutes, Kogh was already asleep, confirmed by Rose when he was snoring.
Her face shone in the moonlight. Her eyes were gorgeous to the average man. Her face was shapely and her lips in the right shape and size. But when you looked at her, she would look deadly and dangerous, even with her long black hair complimenting her face. She wore a mask to hide her face, and because she did not want to get anyone to fall for her. It was surprising that no one in school fell for her. Maybe they were not confident enough. It did not matter. She was now in the Darkness region, a place of adventure, exploration and danger.
She searched her backpack for her journal. The journal was where she wrote everything that had happened down in that book. It had been two weeks since her disappearance from East. She took out an ink pen to write her thoughts down.
Hours went by without any sound. Rose's eyes were already starting to droop. Luckily, Kogh woke up before Rose dozed off.
She had a dream. She was falling in darkness. She had nothing on her. Her backpack was missing, Kogh was missing. Then, she landed on a certain type of floor without feeling anything. In front of her, she saw a light. Instinctively, she went for the light, but it kept distancing itself from her. She started to cry for the light to come back, but it refused and kept going.
When she opened her eyes and jerked up, her face was one centimetre close from Kogh's face. Kogh felt Rose's sweet breathe and moved away as quickly as possible. She was blushing, but her face signified terror and horror.
When Kogh was curious about what happened, Rose explained the dream to Kogh. He nodded and advised her to try and sleep. Kogh went back to his post, flying with his power.
Rose woke up, dreamless when she slept. She was glad for that. But she realised something. It was not the moon she saw, but the glaring sun. It was shining so brightly that Rose had to squint her eyes until she got used to it. She had researched the phenomena of the Darkness region. It had never experienced daylight. But now it did. She shouted for Kogh but she could see no sign of him.
She heard a scream. A boy's scream, from below. She slowly got up, but hurriedly, on her arms and dragged herself off the edge and saw Kogh wrestling with something invisible. She shouted a warning and brought her blast gun. She aimed at the air next to Kogh and fired. The energy pellets streamed past the air into nothing. But blood was visible.
Kogh let out a shape of stranglers with his power and strained the invisible unknown creature.
Rose fell backwards and laid there for a moment. Kogh pushed the creature away and sent a fatal blow by forming a blade and cutting it in half. Blood flushed out and droplets landed on Koghâs face, so he wiped them off with the back of his hand.
He used his force to boost himself up to the roof. Rose was lying on the ground with her journal, thinking. She turned the journal to the back and he saw diagrams, words too small for him at this distance and two gigantic letters at each page, one saying âFâ and the other saying âSâ.
She wrote down some notes into the journal, focusing on the daylight theory in the Darkness region.
She thought about how the sun rose in the Darkness region. It was against all laws of science. But it happened. The sunlight was too glaring for Rose to even look at its rays. It slowly touched the whole city like an army marching into war. That was something Rose did not see in a long time.
Since she could not solve the law-breaking phenomenon, she decided to test things out. She brought her hammer and glove out and shone both of them at the sunlight. Unexpectedly, the blade's colour changed from normal silver to elegant purple. She instinctively threw it away from her but realised it was futile. Though, she discovered something when the axe's blade hit a concrete wall. Purple liquid formed on the impact and started melting a concrete chunk. It fell off to the ground and ate a bit of dirt along the way.
She recoiled as she caught the axe at the handle. She turned around to her backpack and pulled her blast gun out. She was eager, doing everything quickly before the sun disappeared, seizing the chance. When she presented her blast gun, nothing happened. She was disappointed for some reason. She put her blast gun back, but Kogh reached his hand out and force pulled her blast gun and it flew towards Kogh. He apologised and aimed at the same spot where the concrete chunk was eaten away and shot. The pellets became purple, but only Rose saw the purple projectiles hit the wall. They ate away at the hard wall at the same speed as the axe.
She came to her conclusion. It was either this star that was shining so brightly was fake or that her weapons contained some secret material she was not told of. And she was pretty sure the star was not false.
Wow.. it's sure a lot to read. You like to write. I may read it later, right now I just wanted to comment on the title: "speechless" is to be used for persons for example, not stories or objects; better use "breathtaking", for example.

I meant for the story to be without speech. Hence, 'A Speechless Story Of A Traveller'. I was also aware that speechless also means what you meant, but 'speechless' was meant to be taken literally.

The moon came back up after a few hours. For the whole time that the sun was out, Kogh was searching something to replace Rose's lost foot. It was definitely rare to come across something perfectly fit besides rocks. He went off since the discovery of acid bullets and Acid Boomaxe, which were named by Rose. He shook his head as he thought of the names. They were silly to him, but he had no oppositions.
He was in the air, gliding down along the air towards another building in Klensburg. When he landed, he looked up and saw a mighty tower standing proud at the horizon. But he saw the walls of Klensburg. He told himself he could not leave the town without Rose, but he needed to scavenge more. Food was one problem but finding a foot replacement was another one, a huge one at that. Their mobility was important. He had experienced much more than Rose in this town. He had encountered beasts as fast as a rocket being launched back in East's secret laboratory.
He noted the tower and turned back. Instantly, he was face-to-face with a long-headed beast with no features on its face but teeth. His eyes widened and he jerked back, but the monster headbutted him in the chest. He was sent back flying off the building and plummeting down between two buildings. Panicking was not going to help him. He recovered his thoughts quickly and sent force against gravity, almost resetting the momentum he hoarded. He landed on the ground with no injuries. He looked up and saw the monster's bulk body dropped like an enormous slab of meat.
He made a start and rushed off, away from it. Dust flew as the monster landed on the ground in one piece. It regained its posture and charged towards Kogh. He was running as fast as possible, but he stopped. He had been hit by a few tonnes of metal before. He was confident that he could survive this mass of dark meat. The monster moved like a bull and slammed into Kogh like a ragdoll. It sent him crashing into a wall, the building crumbling under him. He jerked his arm forwards and the falling debris was blasted off into the sky. He stood up, unhurt. There were no signs of bruises or cuts anywhere.
Kogh heard Rose shout out. His mind went panicking. He was up against a monster of corruption, but he still needed to protect Rose from a potential creature.
He cursed at the air and launched himself up in the air. He looked around and found a small figure lying on the ground, holding another item and aiming it at another figure, but bigger and more grotesque.
When he started to fall, he pushed behind him and force himself forwards towards the dark figures. Even thought it was night, Kogh could make out Rose already firing her blast gun at a identical beast. As he glided through the air, he flinched and his eyes widened. The monster had split itself into two before attacking both of us. Kogh applauded the monster for its strategy, but not enough that the plan will defeat both of them.
He sent an oppressive force that made it fall on its side. He saw Rose moving backwards as quickly as possible, hurting her elbows if she had to. Kogh landed onto the ceiling, sliding with his smooth and worn-out boots. He looked to his back and saw the previous one in the air, screeching with its enormous vocal cords.
He told Rose to sustain herself for a while as he went off towards the monster in the air. He spun himself with force and sent a whirling pattern of force, specifically aiming for both of the monsters and not Rose. It hit them like a rotating blade spun by a super-powered motor.
It shred them into pieces. Blue blood spread everywhere, even the ceiling and Rose. She flinched and cried out, but only for a moment.
Kogh was still spinning in the air, no dizziness affecting him whatsoever. He smiled while rotating and gliding as the monsters died away. Rose noticed his white teeth and laughed along with him throughout the night.
There was a legend that a scientist also travelled to the Darkness region without the guards noticing he left. He worked thousands of experiments all night and made theories more than Kogh and Rose could count. Though, he was dead for a long time already. It was almost a century ago when he went rogue. Some in East said he worked in an underground laboratory and some claimed he was a nomad.
Kogh found out the two rumours were wrong. The scientist was living in a rather broken down house he built using monsters' skin. The house was quite tough, and could probably withstand a wind blast from a generator in East, which Kogh assured that it was super strong.
Kogh's hair was blown by the wind. It was a place of dirt, sand and clay. They left Klensburg in search for a foot replacement.
Kogh carried Rose because he thought that ceiling was already very dangerous, but Rose could not move. So, he volunteered to carry Rose and move to another place, even though monsters went everywhere in this region.
He put her down in front of the worn out house. It was still night, but Rose had gotten used to it pretty quickly. She took out her blast gun from her backpack and set her position here, notifying Kogh if any monsters roamed around in this area. Kogh nodded at her before he went inside.
It was a place of experiment and torture. The room was hexagonal. Blood was basically the colour of the walls in this room. Animals, apparently from East, were disemboweled for experimental purposes. Bloody tables were spread everywhere that the room looked like a mess, even though it already was. There was a wooden door on the side of the hexagonal room.
Kogh splayed his fingers and sensed for life. Nothing but flies and maggots. He prepared for an ambush, charging his power in his pair of palms and went towards the door, slightly tilting his shoes so no noise produced. He put his left ear and listened. There were no sound either. He reached for the doorknob and twisted it. It creaked with complaints and it was pushed against. Kogh looked at the space he allowed open. There was a hand dangling loose from its body and a leg in half a pair of jeans.
He narrowed his eyes in suspicion and slammed at the door. It opened at a fast speed as Kogh aimed around the room. No one was here, but a decaying body surrounded by flies.
The room was, once again, bloody. But it seemed like the dead body caused this gore. The body was sitting on a wooden chair. That was all the room had.
Somehow, even after all the torture he went through, he was not disgusted by this particular violence and gore.
He shrugged and turned around. He thought of an idea and went to one of the animals, one that was a goat. He shifted his invisible force into an invisible blade. He sawed one of the goat's feet and found it clean. He supposed that the goat's blood has been used for the walls. He cleaned it up with his pants, flicking a little blood off and wiping it on his pants, even though it was dumb.
Rose shouted a girl's shout. Kogh jerked his head towards the sound and rushed. He pushed the entrance door open with his forearms and saw a flying beast with jagged teeth. It was a shape of a bee. Its wings flapped at a supersonic speed, invisible to the naked eye, and the creature was growling at both of them.
Rose aimed her blast gun at the monster and fired. Instead of the pellets piercing through, they did nothing. They could not shred past the super armor that it had.
An instant after she fired, Kogh sent a wave of force and the bee creature was flung away. He flew and chased it, but found out that hundreds of bee creatures were here to ambush them.
He cursed.
Wow, nice. Enjoying what I've read so far - you evoke action really well!
May I suggest organising your story into chapters? The sheer amount of words does get a little intimidating sometimes. Otherwise, keep on writing, liking it.
Thank you very much, Goldfish! I feel obliged. But how do I organize them into chapters? I'm not really a moderator or admin. But, I'll do it now.

Chapter 9
Kogh was flying away from the nation of bee creatures, force propelling him further each second. Rose was in Kogh's arm, hoping the sun would rise now. She threw her axe multiple times, then switching to her blast gun for the next few seconds until her axe came back. The energy pellets did little to no damage to even the smallest of them. She felt as if she was useless in this kind of fight, and that Kogh had to save her from almost every situation. Guilt was gnawing at her heart right now.
Through Kogh's eyes, Klensburg's walls were near, with every corner erected to become a scout tower. He squinted his eyes and saw telescopes attached to the tower. They were made of iron, steel and glass. The tower would not be any use to them, but Kogh went for one anyway.
The city moved below them as they travelled in the air. It was as though the buildings of concrete were shifting their positions. Rose saw it, but was not amazed due to the fact that the nearest creature was gaining on them.
Rose took out her grappling hook and handed it to Kogh. He took it without hesitation and blasted the claw towards the roof of the tower.
She turned her head and saw the the roof had no rough and edgy surfaces.
She shouted and shook her head to retract the grappling hook but he could not hear anything. The bee creatures' flapping of their wings was deafening, even for Kogh, who had augmented features.
The claw grabbed on the edge of the roof, but it slowly slid and fell towards the ground. He lost his concentration, expecting for the hook to pull him, but now, the pair was falling.
Even when he recovered, he could only soften the landing, but the horde could catch them. He was going to do what few people could do.
He raised his arm, carrying Rose up and aimed. She was clueless to what he was going to do. He let go of her and pushed her with the force. He saw her turn her head and shouted. He could not understand what she said, but it was for her sake.
He crashed into the ground, dust flying up and around his body. Nothing happened to him, but one of the gigantic bees sank its jagged teeth into his hand.
When Rose was sent flying, she heard Kogh shouted, even through the ear-piercing noise of wings flapping. She looked up and cried the second time. Her newly-found friend was going to die by those disgusting God-knows-what things. The swarm was already eating him by now. Creatures fought against each other as they competed for the food.
Her tears were left in the air, then dropping towards the ground.
She landed perfectly and cleanly against the ramp of the roof of the tower. She slid down and let her body drop against the concrete. Her body was like a twisted ragdoll, but she gave no care. Tears flowed from her eyes yet again.
But little did she know that the tears moved.
Chapter 10
Rose woke up.
She was still on the wall. Her right arm hurt a little which she slept on. Her clothes were in a mess, with twists and twirls. Her leather boots were untied. Her tears dried up on her face. Her backpack was nowhere to be found and all that was left was her axe in the glove. The blast gun was nowhere to be found either. She rose and looked around.
Somehow, the sun had risen again, after two days. If the sun rose two days later again, she would conclude that the cycle of day and night would be every two days. This was big news to Rose. She would have written the information down on her journal, if she had her backpack.
The sun shone on the wall. It was a wall of concrete. Some bricks on the wall were gone and the holes were filled with dust carried from the wind. The wall itself looked deformed, like it was made decades ago. When she got up, a little dust fell off some of the holes. The wall looked weak and fragile.
The roof she landed on was destroyed, for some reason. Its frame stood strong along the fallible wall. A few centimetres to where she landed was the debris of the roof altogether.
She looked around, again, but in panic this time, because her personal belongings were in the bag. Her head twisted and turned vigorously. She went to the edge of the wall and knelt on her knees. She leaned forward and saw something hanging from a loose brick. Her head flicked back up and flexed her glove hand, which held the axe with the purple blade, due to the rays of the sun.
She paused for a bit, then threw her axe and closed her hand to hold the button. It went past the hanging figure. She was relieved to see that, and timed her right hand to move to the other side and released her clenched fist. The axe returned, but in a different angle. As she timed, the axe's hilt carried the sling of the backpack and spun along with the axe. She clenched her fist once more and the axe flew, with remaining momentum to fly across her head. While that happened, her left hand grabbed onto the bag and yanked it away from the axe. It turned in a different direction and landed on the concrete floor, blade first, and it melted parts of the floor.
She released her fist and it sped towards her as she grinned lightly.
She put her load down and looked through it. She saw her journal, but that was it. The grappling hook was with..
She suddenly went down into a squat and she screamed in a fit of madness. She was thinking of Kogh now, and how he was desecrated and torn apart. She was no witness to the death, but there was no way he could be alive.
But, she realized that crying was not going to be helpful now. She had to get away from Klensburg first. Another thing she realized was that her foot was a goat's foot now. Before, she could feel nothing as she got up and now, she still could not. She felt thankful and happy, but sad and mad at the same time.
Maybe it was time to leave Klensburg, even though she was only here a few days. To her, it did not feel like a few days, but a long time. She nodded and grabbed her backpack, put it over her shoulder and looked over the edge.
She shifted her eyes back and forth, finding something to grab onto. There were bricks loose, but she could not take any risks. Now, it was a time when she missed Kogh. He had powers she had not imagined at all. She wanted to fly with Kogh and travel everywhere. She wanted to try to understand the pain Kogh went through when he was an experiment. She blamed herself when she lost her foot. If she had not, Kogh wouldn't have been dead.
But maybe Kogh was still alive. He was strong, after all. One part of her hoped for Kogh to be alive while the other had given up on him.
She shook her head and sat down, crossed-legged. She had decided to wait the day out. Her axe would melt the wall if she stuck the axe in it.
A creature hissed behind her. She turned around and saw a monster with its mouth and edged teeth opened wide for Rose's head. She screamed and woke up.
It was night already. There were no beasts behind her and she let out a sigh of relief. She got up with her emotions kept behind as she readied her axe and dropped off the walls of Klensburg.
Chapter 11
Rose bent her back and looked at the sign that said, 'Welcome to Fisher Village!'
She thought it was weird and that a supposed fishing village was in the middle of the Darkness region. She walked past the sign, her dirty leather boots crunching the dark ground. It was still night, and it meant danger.
The village looked traditional, with candles on lampposts instead of light bulbs, wooden houses built like shacks. The houses were what made Rose feel confused. The roofs arced over the path, almost touching each other. The windows were shaped like oblongs. Some of the doors were broken down and some still intact, but the doors had squishy knobs. It disgusted Rose as she tried to twist one. The wooden walls were scratched and some were either broken down, filled with holes as small as bullets or split.
She shuddered at the though of the monster who savaged the village. Even the ground looked as if a monster decided to mess the ground up.
She walked and walked, getting used to her new foot. She still could not jump with it, but at least she could walk, better than moving with her arms. She had her axe in the glove ready for any slaughtering. Her blast gun was gone along with her grappling hook. Her axe was her only protection.
She searched through all the houses, only finding a few fish that were fresh and a thin iron bar used for forge weapons. As she exited a house, she looked past the corner and saw a lake. She frowned and wondered how the lake had been sustaining for a long time. Perhaps rain fell here often enough.
She went towards the lake, but saw a monster of darkness lapping up the lake. It was a monster of darkness! The whole time she had been travelling, she could only see monsters of corruption. The difference between them was that a monster of darkness was completely grey while a monster of corruption was black.
She knew she could not take on a monster of darkness, let alone some monsters of corruption. So, she stepped away.
She accidentally stepped on a branch and it broke, alerting the monster.
It turned around and opened its mouth. It screamed and the sound pierced through the night. Suddenly, the sun was rising as well as her axe was glowing purple. She was not going to register the sunlight in her mind yet, but the monster. She readied her axe and threw it. The monster moved aside and the axe missed, entering the lake.
She cursed and released the tension of her hand. The axe returned, melting parts of the monster's backside. It went through the monster and instantly killed the monster.
The axe hit her hand and it recoiled for a moment before she realised it. She wrote what just happened in her journal. A monster of darkness was what caused the sun to rise. But why did it not happen before? Were the monsters of darkness inactive for so long?
She crossed over the monster to the lake, minding it later. She held her melting axe up and dipped it into the lake. The axe's purple glow was gone. When she pulled it back up, it glowed the colour before.
Water extinguished the acidic glow. That was what she had found out. This axe was a weird one.
She turned around and threw her axe at the dead monster one more time. A chunk melted off. She had to be sure it was dead. She did not want another foot gone.
She waited until night before she could cut the meat up for food later on. She could see if the food was edible. But this was a monster of darkness, not the other type of monsters. She wanted to experiment it that night.
She did not want to store it in her backpack yet, so she set her belongings inside a house with a dead fire pit. She put the meat down and went out. She rested her hands on her hips as she stood still and tried to look further into the village. So far, there was only a pattern of houses. But, she caught a movement about a hundred metres away. Until the sun rose, she could not set any traps yet.
But she thought of something faster than to run a hundred metres. She turned back and swung her axe at the wall. She climbed up to the roof.
When she got up, she aimed off the edge and swung her axe off her hand. She quickly jumped off and tried to adjust her foot towards the axe. She timed it correctly, releasing her fist. The axe flew back and carried her up. On one leg, she balanced herself, constantly clenching and releasing and moving her hand back and forth. When she got her balance, she grinned proudly. When it was time to move, she shifted her hand in front and the axe moved upwards and forwards. Then, she moved her hand to the back. It goes upwards and backwards instead. This was a new discovery to her. She knew she did not weigh much, but it was amazing that the axe could support her weigh too.
She went deeper into the village. Somehow, it got darker and darker the longer she went.
But then she realised, the majority of the monsters of darkness live in this particular area of Fisher Village.
Chapter 12
A moaning sound came from the depths of Klensburg. Someone with a familiar voice. Someone who had powers. Someone who could withstand tons of force.
The boy was back in the cave, with few memories. He could vaguely remember a girl with a mask, but that was all. He got up and walked around, getting used to the environment. He accidentally let out an invisible force that pushed nothing but the air away.
He felt as thought he had been torn apart by thousands of creatures. He breathed normally, though. He found that he only had jeans on, with a belt that kept it tight. He thought he had a T-shirt on when he woke up. He shrugged to himself and looked around for an exit.
There was a door. A wooden door with an iron knob that could have shone if it were not for the darkness. His eyes did not allow to see the whole room. He lifted his arms halfway and fidgeted them, slightly flailing in the air and finding a wall. His palms bumped into something jagged and sharp. The wall guided him across the room and he found the knob. He twisted it open and a monster shouted at him, full in the face.
At this moment, his eyes got used to the darkness. The monster had no eyes, only a nose and an arced mouth with carnivorous teeth. The boy remembered the beast, though he did not remember it being related to the beast.
He sent a powerful push. The beast staggered back, even though the boy had mustered a lot of power. It craned its neck over his head and clenched its jaws. He ducked under and pushed himself, sliding under the four legs of the beast. It got confused and the boy liked it. He did not know why. He condensed force into hundreds of fists and they started ramming down the beast, bruising the beast as it was toppled over.
He did the same technique, but shaping it into a blade. He stabbed through and saw blood shooting from the throat. He was not aware that it was so long. The beast withered away, with its last wail as an oath of revenge.
He fell backwards and landed on his backside. He was sweating top to bottom. He breathed through his mouth, shocked from the beast's stature and the devastation of his power.
He finally got up and walked further from the room. He saw light from a particular area and ran towards it. It turned out there was a hole above. He narrowed his eyes as he looked up and positioned himself. He jumped and blasted force below his feet, pushing him through the hole.
He landed on a smooth ground. He did remember that it was concrete. It was night outside, but the moon reflected light onto Klensburg, and the boy thanked goodness for that. He saw dried blood on the floor, smudged on the floor by something a size of a foot.
He looked closer, stretching his neck and moving nearer. It did not seem to help him remember anything. He walked back while looking up.
A giant scorpion's pincers grabbed him.
Hi! Rapyion, I just wanted to stop by and say how proud I am of you, my fellow author! Keep up the great work!
Hi! Rapyion, I just wanted to stop by and say how proud I am of you, my fellow author! Keep up the great work!
I thought you'd never come back! Welcome back! And, thank you. Without you, the story wouldn't be this amazing!

Chapter 13
Rose was panicking, sweat drooling down her face, eyes wide open and grunted teeth. Her hair was flying through the night sky. She looked as though she had played in a pool of mud. Her clothes were downright dirty with blood and flesh. Both of her hands were sweating too, but one less visible because of a glove.
She was crouching on an axe the size of her forearm in the air, hanging loose from it as it gained speed. Her glove hand was positioned in front of the axe this time, giving it stability and not going higher every time.
Dust flew everywhere behind her. It looked like a thousand bulls had suddenly gone wild and started chasing her, stamping and sliding on the ground.
The monsters of darkness were on to her, even though Rose thought they couldn't reach her from this height. Unless it was one of the bee creatures. She was over Kogh's death, or rather, she'd given up hope. She wasn't thinking of Kogh right now, she was thinking of surviving.
She didn't want to leave without her journal, but the problem was the horde. Varieties of monsters such as four-legged creatures, two-legged creatures with arms, six-legged ones and multi-legged creatures. Oh, how she needed her blast gun at this moment.
If she would grab her axe and threw it at them, it would not work. The sun was not up yet, for some reason. Not even one of the monsters roared. They were quiet, but contented for food. Only stomping and stepping were heard. Additionally, she would land on the ground by the time the axe came back.
Then, she thought of an idea. She flew, in sight of the horde, towards a rather gigantic wooden house with that sticky doorknob. The house was different from the other houses. This one did not have a roof that curved forward. It was straight and standing like a pyramid on top of a cuboid. One tower was built on the roof. It seemed to Rose that the tower was more interesting than the wooden mansion of a house. The tower was made of steel, with coloured light bulbs coiling around the tower like a Christmas tree. It looked like a furnished chimney, but smoke did not rise from there. She chose that spot to hide from the horde.
The distance from her and the tower was a few inches when she jumped off her axe. She abruptly released her hand and the axe returned by surprise, although she didn't mind. The land caused a great dent against the roof of the tower. She looked at it and giggled and joked of losing her weight, even though she was slim and slender. She heightened her neck and saw dark monsters heading into the house. She smiled and teeth showed in the moonlight, shining and beautiful.
She shook her head and went back to her plan. She set her axe down on the floor and stood on it. She ducked and released her hand in front of her and the axe flew, carrying her with it.
She collided with wind and it made her tied hair fly. She noted the house she wanted to go to, and went there in case she forgot.
She remembered the roof of the house, the chopped up wall she made and the camp she settled in.
She was losing control by the time she reached the house. She accidentally slid off her axe and fell on the ground, landing on her back. She grunted her teeth as she felt the pain. The axe retreated to her hand as she opened her hand. She lowered her head in shame as she got up, cleaning the dirt off of her. She was happy about the plan, though. She picked her pace up, kicking the door down instead of opening it. Her eyes widened.
Her backpack was gone, along with her journal which the pages were black with graphite, full of diagrams, theories, hypotheses and proven theories. Gone.
Her hands started to shake and she trembled to the ground, sobbing.
