Run! I yelled at myself in my head. A bullet whizzed beneath my arm and I could feel the wind blow past my arm. I tripped and fell face first onto the ground. I felt a crack in my nose and a warm liquid gushing out of it. Get up! I thought and pushed myself off the ground and used got onto my knees. Suddenly I felt a huge amount of pain in my right arm and I screamed in pain. Continue! I dashed forwards with my right arm limp. I turned my head to look at where they were and a black object flew into my face. I fell onto the ground from the force and saw a masked figure above me. It carried a large gun which was aimed at my head. I whimpered in fear, so close! I thought. The figure pulled its mask. Underneath was a robot head with glowing red lights for eyes. More masked figures appeared around it. Each pulled off their masks to reveal a large man or woman. "We have minutes sir!" One of the men said to who the leader was, a woman with a scar running on the side of her face. It was freshly made as it still bled although not enough to make her lose a lot of blood. She seemed unfazed at it though and yelled, "I know!" "Then why aren't we fir-" He was cut off by her shooting him in the foot. He yelled in pain and then fell on the floor. "We need to know his power, that way we know whether or not to kill him." "You killed all the others without hesita-" She shot his other foot. Soon after he passed out from the pain.
"That's because we knew what their powers were!" She said without need due to him being passed out. "Now kid, why don't you show us your power before the transformation, that way we can either help you earlier or we can end your misery early." She said with a half smirk. "I...can't..." I croaked. Her smile disappeared. "Stop lying, everyone at your age already develops their power. You should be able to." She yelled, prodding my chest with her gun. "I...ca-" Suddenly I felt a surge of power in me and my body starting glowing. Even so, I couldn't move my body. I couldn't even feel my wounds anymore. Just an overwhelming burning sensation that took over my whole body. "A couple more seconds!" One of the guys yelled. I heard screaming and I thought that it was coming from me. I suddenly saw a flash of light and I felt like I was getting pulled back. I could finally move, but it was just my head. In front of me a square of light showed what I saw a couple seconds earlier. Around and below me was just a dark abyss. The last thing I heard was, "Time travel! Shoot him before he dis-" And I was pulled into the abyss and blacked out.

"This is the world of Immortality. A world filled with wonders and greatness. Designed for your own comfort. You, were born into this world by two loving parents who nurtured you and helped you gr-" The ad flickered and the screen died as the voice droned out. In reality, the place was worse than death. This world is a world where people can gain immortality. It's governed by a King. The King. Reason being, he's the most powerful person in this world. Each person born into the world has a power. This power though, doesn't develop until this child is from 7-14 years old on most cases. These powers are our curses The King...his power...was Mind Control. His incredible skill, his strong physical abilities and incredible strategic abilities made him who he is now. He's a terrible King. He fought his way to the throne in a mass chaos where nobody was the leader. He created a mind controlled army. Rarely does he use his mind control now because the people's fear, spurred his ability to rule. Some hope to rebel against him and failed. Another curse we have is anyone past the age of sixteen becomes immortal. This is why The King has stayed King for so long.
In the beginning he left everyone by themselves, not caring for them, helping them, or even feeding them. But soon enough the world became overpopulated. Food grew low and havoc was breaking out. The King was one day astonished that they ran out of his favorite food. A huge Chicken. He banished his chefs and scoured for new ones. What he found was that there were just too many people. He scavenged the Earth for the most powerful people. He captured some and controlled the rest to become his minions. He let the weak ones for themselves. To farm and created food. Everyone else...was sent to a deep underground prison. He literally sealed off the door and buried those people alive. Somehow word got to everyone to kill all the children before they reach the age of 16. So that the people who are already immortal, stay immortal. Those who aren't...die. He calls this project: Project Ragnorak. He kills all children under the age of 16 under the guise of helping everyone else. Only those he deems are powerful are allowed to continue to live. Only to be Controlled and used. Of course people disagreed, but there was nothing they could do. Even if they 'killed' him he'd just come back wherever that body was a wreak havoc once again.
This is my time period... What you read earlier was when I was 15, just reaching 16. I had never found my power until then. When you become immortal your power goes into overdrive. And that's when I found out my power. The King was going to take everyone with very powerful powers to his side. Brainwash them and use them. Because they never saw my power. There was a chance I could be powerful and they couldn't waste the opportunity. My power was something they didn't expect. I was sent back to just when I was 15. When they finally found out about me. My goal? To defeat The King and kick him off the throne. You in?
