Ok I guess the upgrades are the key to victory. Wings are pretty much the best item you can get. Super jump + float comes second. But the bosses are pretty hard and getting to level 13 won't be easy.. or getting 99 ammo. This will take some time.

I Wanna Be The Guy is an incredibly poor comparison, and I can't believe you'd compare a masterpiece like that to a mediocre POS like this. Every level there was totally different. The levels are tough as hell, but very beatable.

This was not a comparison. Your original complaint was the stupidity of having to restart from level 1; i.e. the unnecessary added difficulty of replaying everything every time. I chose to name IWBTG because it is a good example of a game that is leagues above any conventional game in difficulty, but I could have gone with any popular classic or retro game which has this feature.

If your issue with this game were simply that it is repetitive and aimless, I would agree.

I'm bumping down Mutant stomp from road of the dead 2 to second hardest quest on my list, getting to level 13 in this game is definitely the hardest thing I've done so far...Levels 1-4 aren't so bad since you fight only one boss, from level 5-8 you have to fight two bosses, much more difficult but still doable, rockets make it much easier. From level 9-12 you have to fight three bosses at the same time...that is insane, and to think you have to do this 4 times for the quest...

I find the rockets aren't as useful when fighting three bosses, the problem is one of them will spawn so close to you that if you fire a rocket right away you will almost certainly be caught in the blast (and they do a lot of damage to you, yikes!). Also their trajectory annoys me, they don't seem to fire straight, either slightly up or slightly down, and sometimes when they fired down they went straight to the ground and I got caught in the blast, so annoying! I found grenades would be more useful for three bosses especially when you have wings, all you have to fly above the bosses and it's death from above with grenades! Even with double jump, high jump and glide this can be effective, and depending on which boss room you get you could just go on the platforms above the room and fire away at the bosses below with the grenades, although be careful of the rocks that spawn, you'll have to be quicker to dodge them up higher. I will say for the one boss that teleports and spawns the 4 jumping minions, it will be hard to hit him with grenades, but usually I left him for last then would take him out with regular attacks.

For the acid pools, there is an easy way to deal with them for those having trouble. Turns out if you destroy one the blocks that's part of containing the acid, the acid will disappear causing no more harm! You'd think realistically it would leak out everywhere and you'd get washed up with it. Screenie below with two blocks highlighted in red that you can destroy that will make the acid disappear, though it can be any block underneath the acid as well. Of course as I'm sure you all know, the block destroyer upgrade, rockets or grenades will destroy blocks.

Three times I've had six of seven upgrades, but can't get the seventh. Also, I've only gotten the wings in two games out of several I have played. It's annoying to play a game so many times and not have it be (completely) your skill that thwarts you, but the fact that the game absolutely refuses to drop all seven upgrades in one game.

Hey everyone, just updated with some performance enhancements (hopefully). Let me know if it's running faster for you.

Also, if you're getting weird glitches like teleporting through walls, I think it's a google chrome bug with flash player. You'll need to play in Firefox or... I hate to say it: Internet Explorer! (dun dun dun!)

What are the seven upgrades?

(Block Breaker, Glide, Super Jump, Double Jump, Wall Climb, Orb Compass, and ??? My guess is wings count? But really which one am I missing or is it wings?)

Also, any tips for 99 ammo?

Heard it was wings, even if they were broken. Might be wrong.

I know when I got the badge, I had on the wings. I wouldn't really consider them to be a permanent item, however, since you lose them after getting hit once.

I had 97 and died. I think the trick to the whole game is getting good stuff early. I'm at the point now that if I don't get the block breaker and double jump (or even better, wings) then I just reset.

How often are you getting wings? I got them once, maybe twice, out of many many games.

I just had the seven upgrades, and yes, the Wing upgrade is the last one to complete the quest...
