You are a settler of a new world, sent on one of the best ships ever constructed to settle the newly discovered lands. Whether you'll be a missionary, leader, soldier is up to you.
The old world, where you are from, is essentially the same as Europe in 1500's except that there is a small amount of magic. There are the occasional wizards and enchanted items and a couple types of monsters. You can be from Spain, England, France, or Portugal. However, instead of landing in North or South America, you'll be landing in a mysterious high-fantasy continent of which little is known.

After what feels like much too long, you manage to find a tree that you can climb very easily. Quickly getting to the top, you notice a lot of smoke. So much that your mind immediately thinks forest fire, and then wonders what might be happening to the log cabins.

As you went around the village, you find that the fire is specifically aimed at the three log cabins. Strangely, it does not seem to be leaving the vicinity even though there is plenty of grass to catch on fire and lead the flames into the forest. You cannot see any villagers, nor hear any human sounding noises. You believe your fairly safe from your current position, but then all logic says this part of the forest should already be burning.

Finding a good spot, you begin setting up the tent. It's a frustrating experience though and it takes you quite a while to get it set up. In the distance, over the trees, you continue to see smoke over the settlement, but in smaller amounts than before. As you were about to go inside the tent, just to make sure everything was good, what appeared to be a ball of light zoomed over your shoulder, closed the tent flaps, and hid inside.

From inside the tent, a voice responds in a high pitched and obnoxious voice "My tent now, sucker! And there ain't nottin you can do about it!". At that, the ball of light opens the flaps a tiny bit and stings you with a beam of light. For a second you wonder where a ball of light learnt french, but you dismiss that as a concern for latter.
