It's probably the Admins trying to keep out computer viruses and stuff. Unless when you solve it, it sends you somewhere else, then it's probably fine. I would contact @Ferret just to be sure.
I'm getting the OP's captcha every time I update my profile after editing my about. I haven't seen the captcha anywhere else, so maybe the control panel contains a specific danger that requires the captcha.
