I know you do not support the use of third-party programs, though this issue directly affects my gameplay, and I couldn't find the solution elsewhere. It's been a while that my Adobe Flash Player (AFP) does not register my keyboard inputs properly. While playing fast paced games such as Strike Force Heroes 2, when I press/hold any of the WASD keys for the character movement, though I release the key, the AFP continues to register they key, as if I was still holding it. When I hold the left Ctrl key while pressing the WASD keys, this issue does not happen.
I know when this happened, but I can't find what I should change in order to solve this. What happened is that I altered my keyboard settings to another region/type of keyboard that does not match my actual keyboard. Though I reverted it, the AFP was affected by it with the problem mentioned above. What intrigues me is that the AFP has never been the same again, even though I re-installed it 4 times. I also searched for this issue in Adobe's and Microsoft's websites' forums/FAQs, and I haven't found the solution.
I have 2 (bad) guesses as to why this is going on. The first one is that the keyboard type change altered a Windows 8 registry that is not deleted when the AFP is uninstalled; the second is that I've chosen the wrong keyboard type when I reverted it, and even though all the other programs were unaffected - including Windows 8 itself - the AFP needs a specific keyboard region/type to work properly. I'll be waiting for your feedback.
(probably dumb) quick remedy that hopes ur dominant hand isn't the left one: hold down left ctrl all the time, and use right ctrl when u have to use ctrl for its actual purpose
Thank you for your advice. I have been holding the left Ctrl during the whole gameplay of all my games, but I didn't have the idea to use the right Ctrl whenever needed.
In a second check, it seems to me that the problem is not in the Adobe Flash Player (AFP), but in the keyboard settings. I can't fix it though, since I can't seem to fully reinstall my keyboard drivers, because I'm using a laptop. The keyboard is stuck in a different region, and I can't seem to change it back. Any ideas?
