...or the code is just hidden, since you don't have to do anything with it :P

But yeah... Back in the days, I started out with some visual basic... but now that I think about it, that doesn't help you one bit with just about any other language I know. (In total about two or three languages... made that sound like a lot, didn't I?)
But basically, I'd say what already has been said before. Either Actionscript or Javascript, because (even though I don't have experience with java) I feel those are somewhat easier languages than something like C/C++/C#/Python/etc which are pretty hardcore.

I am also looking to start programming, and I have surprisingly found a copy of Flash on my computer. How do you suggest I get started with this -- and taking classes at school is not an option... my timetable is already full.

I have worked with Java while editing RS private servers. Never got into the advanced stuff but gave me a general idea of what programming is.
Actionscript I have no started yet, still watching the basic tutorials for flash.

I do not plan on taking any after school classes at school, or just any that is more then I need to go home from school. I like to learn on my own. I'm pretty sure such a class would be very boring, as they teach slowly so everyone can understand...

And as I have said before. I can provide Adobe Flash to anyone here. Just give me a private comment.

I have surprisingly found a copy of Flash on my computer.

Nice try lol.

$600-ish.

I think it's about $400 for students though.

Also MX was apparently the 6th version of flash, according to an unreliable source of Wikipedia, but it is apparent from the photoshop that you also have on there,I am going to assume that someone that uses that computer apparently is quite savvy and possibly an advocate of adobe products. That or they just bought them way back in the day and has had them since.Either way those are both quite old versions of the products.Still consider yourself lucky to have any version of them in the first place, unlike some people.
