I don't fully understand is this for students with projects to search for? or am I misleading myself? xD

This seems to be like a simplified platform to make games and animations. I have to say, many of the projects there are poor. Flash is harder to learn and requires knowledge in programming but you can make much more awesome things with it. Game Maker is good too but Flash is still the best.

Like knight_34 said, simple platform to make stuff. I like to make games and see what kind of feedback I would get, how to improve it and stuff.

rpg maker XP is only good for rpgs, but its pretty advanced, scripting is done for you, and if your really skilled you can script your self.

Game Maker is good too but Flash is still the best.
WPE Pro and Ms Visual Basic 6 is good too
