I've seen some good tutorials on the internet but the best I've yet seen were from www.cartoonsmart.com. He puts up some really good tutorials you can buy but also some tutorials which you can get for free which even includes actionscript3,preloaders,animation ect.
Anywhere but there. He doesn't know a thing about AS. The docs are the most helpful, but you can find lots of places that offer tuts like kirupa, actionscript.org, newgrounds, etc.
I agree that he doesn't have the best explanation for AS but he does explain everything from the basics unlike kirupa and AS.org where it is more advanced. Also his free drawing tuts are really good.
