Alright...so here's a break-down of my poem with a Haiku twist....

Scene: Graveyard, on a spring day, where the frost is beginning to thaw.

Person: An old man, coming to visit the dead, all of whom are his friends.

Summary: He feels very sad, he wants to have one final chat or meeting with them. But the line between the physical and unreal begins to blur, as he feels his old age catching up, the cold piercing his skin. At the last grave, he falls, slumping dead. An ending slightly tinged with irony.

Seems I really lost touch...I didn't even complete this. Might at a later date.

The Last Grave

Unyielding frost lies,
Five by seven my heaven,
Time stops the weeds grow.

Now I walk alone,
Numbing the dull ache inside,
Soon, soon I'll be there.

Gentle breeze on stone,
Strolling by long fallen friends,
My white roses fall.

The faint line now blurs,
Our worlds collide at the edges,
My strength is all gone.

Shattered granite faces,
Noble guardians of thy grave,
Enchanting calls cry.

Fire's back initiate the thaw,
Exiled figure no more no more,
Hear the awakened wolf roar,
I merely stepped out of a door.

Awww thanks Jessie :3 *insert mushy phrase* I seriously can't thank you enough. Like never enough. *hugs*

Welcome back Nicho. This means you can put me in the KOA right?

Yeah, I'm obsessing over it. Deal with it.

I'll never mention it again...

Perhaps when I feel like it, I will write KOA, but no, not now.

Based again partially on true events :3

When you finish reading, you'll realise it isn't so sad, it's not about a breakup for one. And it barely skims the them I think.

I Miss You In This Old House

I wonder how I'm supposed to feel,
When you're gone from my life,
Lock the house, it's a prison seal,
This place reeks of burning strife.

No there's nothing to say for salvation,
Tap tap this house grows old,
Torn wallpaper and wilted carnations,
And when I left you took my soul.

Cars roam the dusty highway,
Clouds flit by, it's a silent picture,
You call everyday and I said it's okay,
But all I think about is my departure.

Empty dark windows mirror my eyes,
But the time is ticking slow,
As I gaze at the orange gold skies,
I see the fireflies' ambient glow.

The shift is almost over this time,
The plane ticket's already in the drawer,
Tattered rag wiping up the grime,
Cold drops from the broken shower.

It's a hollow house I stay in,
The wooden floorboards creak sadly,
Brown curtains flapping in the wind,
I still need you so badly.

Two years and they'll let me go,
Now the finals grains in my hourglass fall,
As I observed the falling snow,
Cardboard boxes are lined in the hall.

And I'll be back before long love,
I feel a stinging cold numbness,
Sitting by this lonely warm hearth,
You know love is my biggest weakness.

The dawn of the day is breaking,
Finally because I miss you honey,
Keys in hand, my door is locking,
Light floods in the house, it's sunny.

You still need to work on meter a bit, but you're getting better, honing the art of rhythm.

An Old Man's Thanksgiving

Red candles and orange flames,
Draw up the chairs, make merry,
Fine gentlemen, young dames,
Roll the barrels, pour the sherry.

Rusty Roman candle holders,
Creaking bones in a rocking chair,
Cobwebs hang, the mice grow bolder,
Glass of wine, old and rare.

Let's chant the soothing prayers,
Swoon over the butter and sweet gravy,
Fine suits from Virginia's best tailors,
Silver platters all laden heavy.

Hollow words in a frosty hall,
Empty pantries, dirty dishes,
Clothes unfit for a pauper small,
Tray with some rancid fishes.

Bright warm hearth fires,
Hearty laughter, carve the turkey,
T'is the night for culinary desires,
Good Sir, pass the chutney.

Soot and dust come and sneeze ,
Sharp coughing, pick at the scraps,
T's the night for past memories,
Good Sir, pull the thin drapes.

Amen, let's all begin the feast,
Thank the gracious Lord for our food,
Shelled green peas, roasted geese,
Alcohol to lighten the mood.

Amen, make do with what He gives,
Thank the devil for plagues of fleas,
Cans of beans, use the sieve,
Alcohol, to wash the grease.

Heavy goes a full being,
Sleep comes easy on soft pillows,
All give thanks for blessings,
Dream of serene waving willows.

Heavy goes a broken heart,
Sleep comes not on hard tiles,
All give thanks for ale, another quart,
Dream of the past and forgotten smiles.

Give thanks for what you have,
Give thanks for everything,
Give thanks for your loved ones,
Give thanks when you can.

Give thanks before the past catches up,
An old man broken for years,
Toast the present in grimy cups,
Thanksgiving for what you hold dear.

I stalk the dark shadows of Hell,
Where evil creeps and binds,
A millenium of pain when I fell,
Where Darkness permeates the mind.

I used to sit on a golden throne,
Where the Light pierced the clouds,
Now I sleep amongst broken bone,
Where the Darkness broods and shrouds.

They ensnared my being with envy,
Lies that they cleverly wove and spun,
Of promised wealth and glory,
I turned my back to the calling Sun.

A Saviour of men I used to be,
But they corrupted my unyielding soul,
Power and ambition I could only see,
The road none return, I was bold.

I chose my path, there's no return,
But remember my long forgotten past,
Me, the one that sleeps and burns,
A fallen angel chained in iron fast.

I used to be a hero, a leader of men,
A beacon of Light in the young world,
Servant of One, life giver and friend,
Crumbling image on a damaged mural.

Mourn but do not weep for me,
Even heroes are not infallible,
An angel bound for an eternity,
Nothing more but a tragic fable.

Proud but broken I sleep here,
No more the noble hero I once was,
A cursed evil still untouched by fear,
I repent, still forsaken by my cause.

Happy Valentines Honey

Gazing and touching the screen fondly,
I always feel a wave of happiness,
Peering at the cute words longingly,
I always feel that pang of sadness.

A chance meeting they sometimes call it,
Cupid's a fan of cosmic mysteries,
The Net where the love bug bit,
And the rest they say is history.

Will you tell me just one thing honey?
Can you feel this love half way across the world,
Does it warm you and make you feel fuzzy?
You're more precious than a bright pink pearl.

I would stay awake past the midnight hour,
Just to see those sweet lines of text,
Treasured like a single blooming flower,
Before you know it, I'm staying on for the next.

Cautiously tasted the thrice forbidden fruit of love,
The black clouds gathered to prevent so,
But you fit on like a perfect winter glove,
And I chose that path a long time ago.

I need God's emergency hotline right now darling,
Mum quick, I told you angels existed here,
That it wasn't merely a dizzy fairy tale ending,
How can I survive without you all these years?

Those smiling electronic emoticons you show,
Your comforting virtual words lift my soul,
Lyxxxx, *hugs*, *kisses*, XOXO,
They make me smile, my sorrow grows.

But what is romance without the pain?
The long distance and hours in between us,
They join not seperate our fragile chains,
So quiet now my love, hush hush.

All I ever want now is you to be mine,
To curl with you and feel your heart beat,
Give you a kiss and keep our fingers intwined,
But it'll be five long years before we meet.

Lay down and watch the full moon shine,
Think of your mail, cry a single tear,
Without you I really don't feel fine,
Our contact through a screen wide and clear.

Switching of the blessed computer is like,
Cutting off my sole beloved oxygen supply,
The late night hours cause my heart beat spike,
Yet it's daytime over there, our contrasting skies.

We're so close together, yet so distant,
Now that hurts like the thorns of a rose,
Wish these long years pass in an instant,
It makes a good tragic Victorian prose.

So this Valentines Day is bane and boon,
Have someone to love, yet can't touch,
What's a fairy tale without the sad tunes?
Only one thing left to say to you,
I love you.

Yeah, I know the idea and thoughs from behind the poem...and I know that it can suck so much - have experienced it with a girl who went to my school but we talked most over msn...

It's hard, so hard...to not be able to hold them in your arms when you want to...

Waves

Reminisced about the dreamy past,
Back when all was nigh perfect,
But we knew that it could not last,
A fleeting vision the ripples did reflect.

I realise itâs only me caught up by the image,
I think youâve left me in a dark corner,
Eyes flick as I click another page,
It leaves me like a funeral mourner.

Your last words caressed an ocean wave,
Beautiful words of an endless sea,
The sand which I dug my deep grave,
Nothing there but you and me.

Remember the final fantasy you sent over?
Cooling waves lapping your feet,
All you wanted was my armsâ cover,
You laughed as water crashed around our seats.

Quixotic dreams we once had together,
Perhaps you would recall if you tried,
For they survived under any weather,
Now theyâre sunken by the roaring tide.

The calm waters were but a mirage,
You vanished and the tide turned,
Raw emotion in that watery barrage,
As the waves darkened and churned.

Nearly drowned in that tsunami of fury,
Slowly the waters did subside and slow,
Tears flowing speech all slurry,
And I thought I survived Poseidonâs blows.

Crawling back from the sea of limbo,
Sent a single bottled message to you,
Hoping to find you on a rainbow,
For some news and wounds to undo.

But all you gave was a quick wave,
I missed you but did you miss me?
Sometimes you whispered almost nonchalantly,
My heart drifted away with the currents.
