This thread while hold competitions to see which band AG likes the most. You vote on which of the following band is better and why. Then, I will add all of the votes and see which band is better.

RULES
1.You can only vote one time
2.Do not spam (duh).
3.Do not complain if the band you want to win loses

Please keep this clean and I will try to pick bands that people know of.

I can't decide.
I kind of think that Jimi is going to win, but I am going to vote for Van Halen.

Van Halen is second-rate, and Eddie's not nearly the guitarist some poeple say he is. Their songs are so. . .messy. And Hendrix just rocks.


Van Halen is one of the greatest rock bands of all time.
Eddie Van Halen is on the Mt. Rushmore of Guitarists along with Hendrix, Jimmy Page, etc. Listen to Eruption.
Alex Van Halen is certainly one of the best drummers out there.
Hot For Teacher blew me away. The first 30 seconds of that song is just simply kick ass drumming.
Michael Anthony was one hell of a bass. I don't know why he wasn't asked back for the reunion. That was BS in my opinion.
Of course, David Lee Roth. One of the most memorable voices in Rock. I mean, I think only Freddie Mercury could only sing higher than him (when it comes to rock vocalists).
Plus, they've had years to build on their legacy. In the late 70's and throughout most of the 80's, Van Halen was the band to beat.
While Jimi died in the 70's. Just think about what he would have done if he hadn't.
I look at this at a technical stand point as well.
Although Jimi Hendrix is the greatest guitarists ever, he is not that good at singing. I think he did better music when he was in his band, The Jimi Hendrix Experience.
By himself, I just don't think he did enough. Not to mention, Van Halen is influential in their own right.
I have to vote for Van Halen.

I would say they're one of the best hard rock bands, but definitely not rock altogether.

I believe he is referring to The Rolling Stones Top 100 Greatest Guitarist Of All Time List. It has some of the biggest names in the guitar world, Kirk Hammett, Mark Knopfler, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Angus Young, and 93 more amazing and outstanding guitarist.

My vote goes to Jimi. His guitar style amazes and impresses me. He is an idol to many great guitarist like Pete Townshend and thousands more.

Where is Rory Gallagher? Many modern day musicians, including The Edge from U2, Slash of Velvet Revolver, Johnny Marr of the Smiths, Glenn Tipton of Judas Priest, Vivian Campbell of Def Leppard, also Joe Bonamassa, and Brian May of Queen, cite Gallagher as an inspiration in their formative musical years.
