Hi, I'm the creator of a new website, http://jetstreamgaming.com/ and I was hoping for some feedback on my site, since this is the first I've ever made. Besides suggestions on my site, if any of you could give me advice on a new toolbar I created for my website http://jetstreamgaming.ourtoolbar.com/ that would be great. I am also starting to learn C++ to try to make my own games, so if any of you have suggestions for good learning resources that would be helpful. Thanks!

two main things I could suggest for you

1)Move the tags on the home page to the bottom of the left column, so the top of the page won't seem so cluttered.
2)Possibly think of creating a shortened version of the logo for the toolbar, so that you can fit all the tools on it properly. I noticed quick games got cut off, so it could help to have the logo part shortened, so you can fit that in properly, without making a larger tool bar.

1) Some images just wont load

2) Work on the style. Tags and new games section are soooo out-of-the-general-style of the website. Make font smaller for them, change colors of tag links so they wont just be default.

3) Logo/search/login section vertical size is too big, almost half of the screen. It's not the main part of your site, so no point of making it that big.

In summary, the main problem is the design. Trying to change some stuff in some default template without deep knowledge of html & css & stuff usually causes a mess.

Well, for the first website it's a pretty good start. But if you plan to continue and improve, don't stick to CMS'es and templates as an ultimate solution, start with the basics: learn HTML, then CSS styling and markup, then probably PHP, if you're into programming, or probably go for designing websites.

Ask questions, i'll try to answer. I create websites for more than 8 years, so I may know a thing or two ))

Delayed response on my part, but I suggest changing either the color of the logo or the general tone of the site. Either focus on the idea behind the logo or the idea behind the site itself. Both are flexible to work with, but together they just seem out of place. I suggest building off of a 2-color scheme. [url=http://colorschemedesigner.com/] can help you pick precise complementary colors. If anything, a monotone would work well for the greens.

Clearer breakers inbetween your news topics on the main page, and a slightly bigger gap between the content and sidebar would make the site clearer. The 10 star rating thing on the front page is also a bit epic. Some of the 10th stars are appearing on a second line which is a bit offputting. Maybe reduce the size of the 'read more / add new comment' text for new games, or make them lil' icons instead.

Also, what algorithm did you use for thumbnails? If it was a public source I would like to see it to check on something. If not, I can point you in the direction of a few which render size/position changes very well.
