I have some questions. First of all, is coding and programming the same thing? Are they hard to do? I'm 13, 14 in a month. So I might want to learn now. Thanks for any help.
I'm 13 and turning 14 in... 5 months? Can't remember....
Though a comment that was something on the lines of "I fiddled around with flash for five years before I even thought of making a game" Made me very... anxious. I am a kind of guy that takes up a hobby and loses it within 2 weeks.....
Also, is the hardest part of flash actionscript or something else?
im only about 15 and i started as wen i was 14. i made a very simple game that wasnt hard to make and it got a decent score on Newgrounds. I think u shud just watch a few tutorials on very basic stuff and develop ur own style. coding also requires a logical way round things
I've never understood AS2, altough I didn't spend much time trying to do it. I came from Java, so it's easyer for me thinking with objects. I think AS3 is far easyer to understand and if you know Java, you know AS3, so maybe you should learn a bit of Java, because it's free and there's a lot of free IDE'S (i.e NetBeans, Eclipse).
