i got attacked by a level 17 wolf and after that there seemed to be some sort of a green air around me and im using the healing potion but im losing hp because of that

I eventually reached chapter three when all of a sudden completing a quest and killing all monsters in the area will not give me the purple chest and so the enchantment stopping me from leaving the area does not disappear causing the game to not acknowledge I have indeed completed it. I used a scroll to get back to the village once I gave up and then tried it again in the mystery cave to which the same thing happened. I thought maybe since its just an optional quest I should continue and go for the "save Anna" quest but the same thing just occured and now i'm walking around an empty arena unable to leave without the scroll and unable to bring Anna back despite me having already done so. I haven't heard anyone else have this problem but it is extremely frustrating and preventing me from any further gameplay.
