What's a good, free art making program that is NOT MS Paint or GIMP?

If you think GIMP is good please tell me why.

Inkscape is a great program for vector graphics.

There is also Synfig which is a vector animation program.

I got Synfig and I CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

thanks anyway, but I guess I'll just hand draw. :P

Adikaaaa... PS doesn't quite fall in the 'free' category. Try $699 for CS4 and $999 for CS4 Extended.

Yes I would go with gimp. It's similar to photoshop and it's free. It's very good for a free program that is easy to use.

You can use PAINT.NET.

Its free. =D

Adikaaaa... PS doesn't quite fall in the 'free' category. Try $699 for CS4 and $999 for CS4 Extended.


there's a 30 day trial on all adobe's products.

True, but still - unlimited, permanent use is costly.
