Hey guys, I don't normally go on this forum, but I was wondering if anyone knows any good introductory websites/books/any other reference for java or python language. This doesn't have to be for game programming, I'm thinking along the lines of data analysis or database design. Honestly, when it comes to PROGRAMMING (and not just mindlessly enjoying the games), I'm pretty clueless. Any tips you guys have would help a lot.
I would not want to be a programmer because it takes so much time but it is great to see the end product be successful. Still wouldn't want to do it though.
@Darkroot, wow that's a lot of stuff... gah, so much reading... but thanks for all the references ^^
@Graham: where can I find the rest of the chapters? I'm going to try to finish this over the summer (but probably will fail to do so...)
@bgerm52: yeah, I agree, end product is the best part. Programming and learning about programming is a bit boring (no offense to programmers out there!) and it is a bit tedious, but I'm considering doing this as a job, so might as well make the best of it.
