Okay, well, I'd say I'm a pretty good video editor and I understand keyframes and whatever.
Recently, I got interested in making games. So I tried Adobe Flash CS3, and I was STUMPED by the actionscript.
I have good ideas, I'm good at making computer artwork, but I am totally hopeless at scripting.
I want to learn, so I'm going to ask a question.

Am I supposed to memorize Actionscript? Or do I copy and paste it off a website?

I hope someone can help me, because I really would like to bring my ideas to life. :P

Thanks for looking :P

After rewriting the same thing over and over, you will eventually know it rather than think about it. Only reading tutorials doesn't help you memorize anything, you'll forget the next day, writing codes and trying to understand them is the best way to learn.

if you don't know any scripting, learn as3. it will teach you nice oop practices that you can apply to other languages as well.

here's a great tutorial to get you started with all this:
