Am sorry if this is the wrong place for this but! wasn't sure where else to put this!

Is it worth making Flash Games? How much can be made per submitted game & what are the aspects of the game that is submitted, is the price based on i.e the length of the game, the quality, how addictive etc?

I have some Awesome concepts of Games! I know how to Flash! is it worth investing the time to make the games?

Could someone answer who knows alot about this i.e someone who is making games & has made a few & has been paid! would be good to hear the name of the game & how much you got for it so I can check out the game & see what level of game I need to make to make this amount if money!

Thanks in advance!!

I haven't been paid or put a few games on... but in my opinion if your asking this question than you shouldn't... people who code and make games are people who like doing it and to them its not considered wasting time... and you shouldn't just do it for the money... but if you do enjoy programming and love spending hours at a time working on it than I say go for it make an enjoyable game... and if its good you can make some pretty good money. Sorry about long reply

Thanks for your reply!
I do enjoy making games & coding! infact I love it! it's Awesome!! & I wouldn't mind doing it for free & in fact, in the future I will probably do so! but it's just, at this point where i am in life! to invest my time into making some Awesome games would mean taking time out on the things that make me money! & even tho I could get by! it would be nice to know that by the end of it, I'll get something out of it so I wont be poor! if you get what i mean!!

Alongside the monetary awards, you also get recognition of being a competent developer if your submitted games reach a certain amount of merit.

I would ask some of the higher developers, like Krin or John, about this sort of thing. Looking at the Help page, it says you are able to request a sponsorship from Armorgames, which can involve payment for your games. I have no clue what guidelines are involved to make/break the offer, but that's why you should talk to an official developer

Thanks again for replies!!
I was hoping that someone like Krin or John would see this!
But anyways! thanks alot! I think I've got all the info I need now!
But if anyone else wants to add more I would appricate it!!

And as gose for the "money is just an object!" Very true! But...

Here's a good article. It's a little pessimistic, though. In summary, it describes how the Flash industry is unstable, and how most game developers have to obtain financial support from their family, their college, etc.

BTW, not much people are comfortable with announcing how much they were paid for their games. The 'upper' game developers, might not have the time to answer your questions, anyway.

very true but If you already make a decent amount of money that it shouldn't matter much =D

I think you should just make games as a hobby. If you can get a decent job, work on your flash games with your free time.

There's no real criteria you have to aim for to get a nice lump sum of cash. Simply, the game has to be popular. Armor Games needs traffic to keep itself running, without a community Armor Games is pointless hosting, so if your game is keeping people away from other sites you're bound to gain some cash from the site owner. Of course, to attract people, you need something immersive, fun, lengthy, new and interesting and it's very hard to get all of these things right.

It's definitely worth dedicating some of your time to programming. Even if you don't get monetary rewards on your first few attempts at submitting games (maybe they don't even get released?) you should have fun creating a product, if you're not enthusiastic about developing a game then why bother?

If you've got ideas, it's definitely worth programming them -- bringing them to life -- and at least trying to get some popularity and trust as a developer. Once you've got a fanbase, a series or lots of people visit your games you can start thinking about creating a behemoth of a game like Bloons or Crush the Castle. Until then, have fun developing small projects and don't worry if they flop, these things do take time.

Thanks guys!
All this information is Fantastic!
I think I shall start on one of my projects & see how it goes!!!
When I submit! do I have to contact them first if I want them to sponser it or do I just hit the submit & it all happens there?
