Ok, the only thing I know how to do is make a drawing move up, down, left, and right at a certain speed. I need more than that to make a game (Duh). Write now, I just want to make a platformer with my own music, I have Garage Band and I know how to record and put stuff on iTunes. So, if you can help me please do so.
First off, I'd highly recommend learning AS3 instead. Then find some platformer tutorials. I know of one that's pretty decent at Flash Game Tuts. That's an AS3 one, but if you're determined to learn AS2 instead there's another one for AS2.
Yeah I would suggest start working with as3... it seems harder but it isn't... plus in reality you will get used to it fast and it will be better for you because people are starting to move over to as3 and eventually as2 will disappear just as as1 did
