"What? You want us to use our men as more meat for the meat grinder? That's ridiculous. Why don't we use those same green soldiers as bait for the enemy veterans," *move pieces accordingly on the map* "but have several cavalry and artillery units ready to back them up. Once the enemy attacks the weak soldiers, have the cavalry come out of hiding and slam the enemy soldiers, then immediately fall back. While the enemy is attempting to regroup from the cavalry strike, the artillery units will have ample time to surround them. Once that happens, we give them a chance to surrender. If they don't, the artillery will blow them away and then the fresh infantry units will close in for the kill. Then, with or without the enemies, everyone will gather the bodies, equipment, etc. and fall back to their original position."
"We can assume that the enemy is going to send units in the direction of that division when they don't come back and don't respond. That will leave a gap for your precious flanking division."
