you were a ranger, your grandfather a legend that died fighting off foul creatures aiming to destroy the land. The demons were after an ancient artifact, if the artifact is destroyed a power of evil that is invincible would be unleashed upon the world, your dad died killing a warlock that wanted to destroy the artifact. yeras later the artifact was found by a peasent and served him as a tax to the king, the king found the artifact and let the priests find out the artifact's prophecy, though they mis-interpreted it, telling the king the destroyer of the artifact would become invincible in strength, and so the king wanted to destroy it, though it could only be destroyed in the middle of the elf forest, a place protected by a gigantic animal guardian. He heard of you, you had a knack for making animals trust you, and in fighting monsters too, he also knew about the mark, the ranger's mark. That sacred mark passed on generation to generation in your family gives its owner an enchatment making monsters and animals alike trust you and not attack you. And so he sent you on a quest to kill the guardian, in return he promised to give you the artifact which you knew the actual prophecy of, you killed the guardian and wanted to claim your price, but the king had evil in his heart, and so he set an assasin to kill you once you were in the castle and make it look like he was trying to get the artifact too, only he didn't succed, you understood your situation quick enough.. and so you grabed the artifact, charged out the castle and rode your steed to safety, there are still assasins on your tracks, you have to finally keep the artifact safe!
you are the wanderer
character list:
name: weapon: (something reasonable like a long sword or a bow or something) secondary wep.: (dagger, short bow, whatever...) steed: (make it not over-powered, you can be craetive like a large tiger or magic elf or whatever or just have a horse or whatever) items: rangers mark, some water, elvish bread
"Im not letting go of anyone" he says "this is not a favor! This is a command from the mercenaries of the king himself!" he screams at you "now get to your feet and start walking you ninny!"
Simon: "nah, only on ol' myken's and zephi's farms, though ya' won' find ol myken... his meat business got crashed by ours..." then you head out and they give you the meat...
Talow: you head for him, then he kicks you realizing what you are about to do but the second he is distracted by you Dyrall brakes out of his hold and kicks him in the groind, then you come and behead him with your sword "well this is a bit gross" Dyrall says looking at the gore, do you continue going for the elf forest
Simon: you head for ol' zephi's farm, you knock on the door of a cabin with a small sign saying "zephi's cheese" and a grumpy old voice asks "what'ya here for? You come ta'buy any cheese? You the tax guy?"
"well, better that then they get their hands on the artifact... now then, lets head towards the forest, while you explain more about your elf 'tutor', or who i think to be your stepfather, since that was what you was gonna say before right?"
Simon: the man gets knocked down by the force of you opening the door, "what'ya need to blast the door open like dat?" he asks "I'm here for your lost sheep" you reply, "well then come in you, ya' want to buy some cheese? I don't have costumers at all lately seein' that I lost most'f ma'sheeps lately... Now everybody is at norgler's feeding their behinds off on him **** poor tasting cheeses..." he says sitting you down at a table, "I'm afraid Ill go like Ol' Myke' and his meat business, I'll run out of meat and I'll be forced to go travelin' sellin' my cheese leftova's like a fool... Ya' need some booze ah? I got a modified version of the stuff they sell at de tavern, it's better for when you want to forgot about life or when your down-right sad..." he says then mumbling to himself quietly "and I'd be down-right sad a dam' lot lately..."
Talow: "right, he was some kind of magician, a rare magician the rangers call a "druid", he taught me some of his skills, that was how I could have made that horse stop and go mad by lifting my hand. He could make change weather slightly and completely talk to animals and make them do things, the other mages at Dockstown were so evious of his powers that they framed him for causing a huge storm that killed people at sea once, then he was forbidden from the town and was sent on exile, the rules at Dockstown are strict and because I was his...son... I was exiled too, he said he is going back to elf forest but he didn't allow me since I was only a little child, even grown warriors can't survive the forest sometimes... so he sent me to Pan with a letter recommending me for a Shepperd/ sheep-keeper job, what he didn't mention though wasn't that I had talent or experience with that sort of thing, I used pure magic to herd the sheep together... And so I came to Pan and I saw a sign saying that Norgler's shop is searching for a new sheep-keeper since the old one stole store property because he wanted to feed his children... he was a poor guy but I'll tell you that job was great... And now you came and I'm doing exactly what my stepfather told me not to..." he says while the area seems to have more and more trees as you go on
name: Simon weapon: Broadsword secondary: composite bow steed: An aligater sized centipede items:rangers mark, some water, elvish bread, artifact, map(pan), 3 rolled breast(sheep),2 legs(sheep) money: 50 silver
I look into 'ol Zephi's eyes and say "I'm going to stop this nad get your sheep back, now i'd like to know a few things first though," I look around the cabin before finaly saying, "did a mage come round here before you lost all your animals, what exactly happened to 'ol myke, how is kin'yel (forgot his name) faring so well and finaly,i need a bottle or two of your booze" I give him a determined look when i finish talking, almost to stress my point about fixing the problem.
and yes I do indeed enjoy this game, and a good plot is as important, if not more important than strong game play.
"yo ansa' your questions, first no, no mage came. 2nd ol' myke' is a butcher like kin'yel, he used to be real popular meat seller an' stuff but one day when he'oke up he see half him's sheep gone! Like de'wind blowin'way! Then another morning the rest of dem sheep are gone! 'Twas a real tragedy for him, had to close his shop an' go out of town selling the rest of his meat in castlestwon or somethin', I was frustrated as hell as I woke up the next morning and third my sheep were gone! and so now I only have a sixt'of ma'sheep!" he says then goes up to his knees and brings a small, gray-black bottle, "7 silvers a bottle, real hard booze so don't be a ninny if ya' don't think it taste good"
"but at least you have a friend to help you now, where as the grown warrior may of been by himself for this journey. also, i think we're by the forest, if not down right in it. also, this is my pet, a baby dragon..."
and games with out good plots kinda suck truthfully.
name: Simon weapon: Broadsword secondary: composite bow steed: An aligater sized centipede items:rangers mark, some water, elvish bread, artifact, map(pan), 3 rolled breast(sheep),2 legs(sheep),2 zephi's booze money: 36 silver
"Thanks for the booze zephi. Did kinyel get more sheep an' animals when myke lost his? Oh and you better gaurd your sheep like a hawk for a few days, i might need some of 'em" I gave Zephi a smile and waited for him to tell me about Kin'yell. Hope kin'yell can hold his booze, i thought slyly
wow ****, we pretty much ignored this dragon completely until now haven't we? :P
"incredible" he says looking at the tiny winged lizard crawling on your shoulder after getting kept away hidden for so long... "well I think that the forest is plenty safe with a ranger.." he says ironically "have you been to the forest lately" he asks and suddenly you have a weird feeling, you almost faint as you get a weird flashback
you are on the top of a gigantic worm like monster, your ranger's mark glowing in a blinding silver light as you stab the colossal monster in its only, tiny weak point that some how glows red. then the creature makes a scream and somehow you jump high into the air, landing a 100 feet below you without a scratch...
then the flashback is over, nothing is glowing, you don't feel a weird sense of energy running through you, Dyrall is holding your shoulder "what the hell happened? You just fainted right there on the ground somehow..."
