LOL, there's actually a town(runis) called Winterkeep in the Hordelands. I go to the Church of Corellon Larethian(Elf), btw, you need to respond in the other forum.
This town is called Winterbrook. Slightly different. Anyway, you head to the Church of Corellon Larethian. "Hello, brother," a Grey elf in cleric's vestments says, walking up to you. "My name is Aramil. What can I help you with?"
I go see the Cpt.
You go to the barracks. "Uh...the captain guy?" you say to the guard. He gives you directions and you enter the barracks. After getting lost a few times, you find the quarters of the commander. You knock and the door is opened by a tall human wearing banded mail, with a greatsword strapped to his back. "Hello," he says, smiling. "You must be one of the people the Lord Councilor sent my way, right? I'm Deric Dragonsbane, captain of the Winterbrook guard. I assume you're here for information regarding the murders? What, specifically, do you want to know?"
i will go about town and utilize my gather information skill
Well, where will you go in town? The tavern? An inn? A church? The smithy? Where?
i just snoop around town fer clues
Again, where at?
Yeh i go to the church of Corellon Larethian.
You go to the Church of Corellon Larethian and are greeted by a Silvan Elf in an acolyte's robes. "Hello," says the elf, "I'm Acolyte Heian. What can I help you with, sister?"
"Everything you're willing to tell. The more we have, the faster we'll catch 'em."
"All right," Captain Dragonsbane says, nodding. "Well, there have been three victims thus far; Verna Padfoot, a female halfling tailor, Kasomar Urthadar, a male human hunter, and Gimble Garrick, a male gnome carpenter. As far as I can tell, there are no significant similarities between the victims, the way they died, or anything! Padfoot was cleaved nearly in half, Urthadar appears to have died from magical wounds, and Garrick was beaten to death."
AROUND as in all around everywhere zingnoff will come with me
You are at the Drunken Dragon tavern, and are about to be booted out(i.e. don't try to hit on the waitresses again or you'll get kicked out of the place). And there's no need for the attitude. You can't just go "around". For one thing, that's way too vague, for another, there are over 100 buildings, if you count residential homes and farms.

"Seems that we may be dealing with more than one killer. An organization, maybe? What do you think?"
"It's possible, but if it's an organization I would expect some kind of pattern, anything. Connection to the victim, some kind of calling card, whatever. Plus, these murders all seem sloppy, disorganized, unplanned even. If it was just one death, I'd say it was a crime of passion or of spontaneity."

So the barracks first, then?
that doesn't really deter me from trying
So, are you going to ask people at the Drunken Dragon or what?
