The world around you is a dark damp underworld; a vast tower with no exits but a single portal, on the roof, to the outside. You plan to someday run away from your family and escape to the mysterious world outside, but to do that you will have to ascend 77 floors... and you're not even sure if all of the stairs can be climbed... try to be the first player to reach the top. Good luck.

Name:
Age: (10000's the limit)
Race: (see below)
Date: Day 1, hour 1, minute 1 (see below)
Level: 1
Hit points: 10/10 (see below)
Energy points: 10/10 (see below)
Speed: (see below)
Strength: (see below)
Instinct: (see below)
Intelligence: (see below)
Charisma: (see below)
Exp: 0/100
Skill points: 50 (see below)
Floor: 1/77
Weapons: (see below)
Abilities: (see below)
Risk points: 0 (see below)
Money: 1,000 rupees (see below)
Morale: 75/100 (see below)
Lives: 1

Race: Select to be either fully one race, or a hybrid of two. Each races come with skill advantages. These advantages give a starting boost in one certain skill, plus an additional levelling up bonus: each time you level up, you will automatically gain the said amount of skill points in the said skill. If you choose to be a hybrid, both your starting bonus and levelling up bonus will be halved for each race. The races are:
Human: +20 starting instinct; +6 instinct levelling up boost.
Cyborg: +20 starting intelligence; +6 intelligence levelling up boost.
Vulture: +20 starting speed; +6 speed levelling up boost.
Beast: +20 starting strength; +6 strength levelling up boost.
Animated dummy: +20 charisma; +6 charisma levelling up boost.

Date: Different actions will take different amounts of time; some will take one minute, others could take hours. The player who finishes the game with the earliest date wins, and players can retry after winning or giving up.

Hit points: Each time you level up, your maximum hit points increases by five. Your health isn't refilled, but increased by five when you level up, so if you had twelve hit points and you levelled up, you would then have seventeen. Losing all of your hit points will result in you losing one of your lives. Hit points can only be regained either in exchange for risk points or by visiting a doctor for money.

Energy points: These work in exactly the same way as hit points, except your maximum amount will only increase by two. Running out of energy will not kill you, but you will have to rest. One hour of sleep accounts to a 1 point energy regain.

Skills: The five skills are strength, speed, instinct, intelligence and charisma. Each player starts the game with 50 skill points, along with the bonus they receive from the race they choose. Each time a player levels up, they receive 15 skill points to assign to different skills, along with the automatic levelling up boost from the race they choose. Different skills will decide outcomes of different events.

Weapons: Every player starts off with two weapon slots. Each five times they level up, the player receives another weapon slot. The weapons are split up into four categories: melee, ranged, indirect and defence. The player can choose any combination of weapons to start the game, although having one attack and one defence weapon is recommended. Once a player receives another weapon slot, they must find a weapons dealer to buy a weapon with money, and only certain dealers will sell certain weapons. A player can also buy special weapons from a risk dealer with risk points. Different special weapons will only be available from one dealer in the entire game.
The player must choose any two of the weapons below to start the game with:
Melee:
Iron maul
Electric claw
Obsidian dagger
Chrome axe
Lead ball and chain
Ranged:
Laser handgun
Heat blaster
Shurikens
Steam-powered shotgun
Longbow
Indirect (these weapons can kill their user but are guaranteed to kill victims):
Vial containing cancer
Bottle of snake venom
Acidic pills
Explosive gum
Kantraps
Defence:
Titanium shield
Knuckle dusters
Elbow blades
Smoke grenade
Pepper spray

Abilities: These can help players out in certain situations. Players can only ever have three abilities, which can not be altered. Players must choose all five abilities to start the game. The abilities are:
Rewind time (for just one action; available once a day)
Power sleeper (players gain one energy point every half hour)
Healthy (regain one hit point every six hours)
Warrior (higher chance of killing while fighting)
Immune (player will not be killed by their own indirect weapons)
Parachute (falling damage will be halved)
Invisibility (turn invisible for two hours; available once a day)
Telepathy (read people's minds)
Teleportation (teleport to anywhere on your floor; available once a day)
NHS (healthcare costs halved)

Risk points: If a player chooses to execute high-risk actions, they will gain a risk point. These can be swapped for money, special weapons, extra lives and hit points.

Money: In Metropolis, the currency is rupees. Rupees can be used to buy weapons, bribe people and it increases morale and reputation, but it can also get you into tricky situations like muggings if you have too much of it. Players start with 1,000 rupees.

Reputation: This is what can get you out of (or into) fights, get people to trust you and keep you away from the police - that is, if the law is enforced on your floor. Regularly killing people and stealing give you a bad reputation, but if you kill or steal from certain people, your reputation will increase.

Morale: Money and friends make you happy. You might not make any friends on your journey, but be sure to try to make some. Also, certain events will occur to increase or decrease your morale. Be sure to keep morale high because if a player's morale drops to zero, they will commit suicide. Each new life is started with 75/100 morale.

So you're in your house, it's the dead of night, and you want to escape. How do you do so?

well, it worked! Now, to your left is a doorway leading to a bar, and to your right is a doorway leading to a staircase that goes up. Where'd you go?

I'm a bit confused:

Players can only ever have three abilities, which can not be altered. Players must choose all five abilities to start the game.
Is it three or five?

Sorry about that, Tegael, it's meant to be 3.
Sot, Tegael, how do you choose to escape from your house?
Road Runner: You walk to the staircase. It is intact. You can hear a figure at the top - do you go back or take a closer look at the guy?

I write a note before leaving home which reads "Dear parents, I've left for grandma (who lives in another country) and will be back in about a month. Don't worry, I'll write!" and then go for the tower.

(By the way, lol, I'm half cyborg and I have parents? And I live with them while being 462 years old? ... doesn't matter anyway, since I've "escaped", but just saying.)

I go to the right.

Tegael: Well, they're kind of your creators. Anyway, on the staircase, there's a guard asking you to return to your home. Do you obey him, fight him, or bribe him?
Road Runner: The guy seems friendly enough. You try to walk past him, but he kicks you to the floor. What do you do?

Tegael: The guard tells you that all residents of the tower are forced by the law to remain on their own floors, to avoid overpopulation.
Road Runner: You question the man. He replies 'Because I'm sick of little freaks like you!' He pulls out a sword. You pull out a blaster. But before you can shoot, he lifts you up and tosses you through a wall. Delirious, you get up. The man ascends the stairs to the second floor. You have lost two HP. Looking up, you wonder why there is so much light around. Then you work out why - because you are outside! But still, from here you can either return to the stairs or climb up a ladder to the third floor. What do you do?
