Well, a sword has a longer reach than a dagger, so I figure the best thing to do is to take him out before he gets close enough to use it. I lunge towards him and try to stab him in his chest.

First, I take his dagger, as two people with curved daggers on the same day is kind of suspicious. Then I go back to the barracks to let my superior know (I imagine someone finding a dead body on the street would cause quite the commotion otherwise).
