This is basically the same game as the one that has been running for quite a while, but it will be all official material, no house rules or non-rulebook sources of any kind, and I may enforce mandatory characters if things get too far out of hand (TRF has said that things were getting carried away in the other game). I also want chracter and OOC dialouge to be better managed, in other words don't fill this game up with a bunch of meaningless chatter (If all you want to do is talk about something, do it in the other game). New players are always welcome, and in fact encouraged, even if you don't own any of the books or know any of the rules. If any new players want to join, see the other game for rules, give me a race and class, and I will take care of the rest. As soon as at least 4 characters are made, this game will begin. The module I am using is a DCC, known as "The Black Pearl" (and I don't mean the ship from Pirates of the Caribbean)
I would take the Longsword, and i want the chaos, but i have a question. If my god isnt evil, can i still be evil? And also, from the looks of it, i only have 2 god choices. Am i allwold to take a god different from those other 2? Because i like my race, and my class, but because of those 2, i feel like i would need to change it to get a god i favor. HOWEVER! I dont want to put you through the work of me changing race and class, but if at all possible, i would like to know if i could change class and race so i could have an evil god?
Alright, I am looking for my mod but i know where you are starting:
You arrive at the Black Mariah, a seedy tavern by the seaside where all types meet to discuss things like the "catch of the day", best places to "fish", and various other innuendo's that are not age appropriate. There is a very well known local legend that speaks of a tower arising out of the water once every blue moon (literally refering to that one time a year when the moon is full for the second time in a given month) and is said to contain a treasure of great value. Naturally this attracts many promising adventurers to the Black Mariah, and tommorow night is the moon is full for the second time this month. There are many would-be adventurers and locals who have already arrived, and it appears that a major event is currently underway. Apparently there is only one man, a William Tell who has a map of the said tower, and is offering it as a prize in a contest of skill. The contest is a serious of events including darts, archery (shooting apples off of people's heads), puzzles, wrestling, etc. The teams are formed of various adventuring parties, most of which seem to have little or no skill, and what they lack in skill, they more than make up for in determination and sheer numbers. From what you can gather, It sounds like the team to beat is led by a gentleman by the name of Captain Arthur "Quick" Quill, accompinied by his crew of 12. The crew itself seems fairly mediocre, but Quill has a man look in his eye and appears to be much more experienced than anyone else here. The winner is determined by a scoring system based on how well your team performs in each event, and since new teams seem to keep arriving by the bunch, the events are likely planned to continue until the final hour of dusk tommorow. It is currently around 4:00 PM and each event takes between 10 and 30 minutes depending. You are allowed to retry as many times as you want, but each time you retry, you must start over completely (eg, if you really sucked in one event, but had already done 4 events, you would have to redo all the events, not just the one). The evening is young, and all drinks are on the house
We are a Lawful Good party, which is why I advise not being Chaotic or having the Chaos Domain as well as why you are not allowed an Evil god. Also, you can choose any god, not just Human and Elf gods.
Er, as seeing as i cant be evil, ill stick to my idea of "Im the weak cleric, protect me while i hand out your healing potions".
And can we do what we want? I mean, is it so that we are forced to just enter the competition, or so that if one was an evil charecter, have the others win, then steal the map? Anyways, i enter the contest.
