This is basically the same game as the one that has been running for quite a while, but it will be all official material, no house rules or non-rulebook sources of any kind, and I may enforce mandatory characters if things get too far out of hand (TRF has said that things were getting carried away in the other game). I also want chracter and OOC dialouge to be better managed, in other words don't fill this game up with a bunch of meaningless chatter (If all you want to do is talk about something, do it in the other game). New players are always welcome, and in fact encouraged, even if you don't own any of the books or know any of the rules. If any new players want to join, see the other game for rules, give me a race and class, and I will take care of the rest. As soon as at least 4 characters are made, this game will begin. The module I am using is a DCC, known as "The Black Pearl" (and I don't mean the ship from Pirates of the Caribbean)

No stones in the immediately visible area, but he did smell water earlier.

*sigh* How many of the deer can he carry at once?
Also, you just have to make things difficult for me...

Yes, track down the running water. Stream stones will be present. And running water is generally cleaner than still water.

Yes Hyper, you get the stones you wanted and Char can get a quick drink.

Yay?
Anyway, he gathers the rocks and gets a drink. Then returns to the coyote or bear or whatever animal you came up with eating the deer that he left behind.

He sees nothing, but a carcass or two is missing. He sees the tracks of and smells a bear.

Welp, he's not stupid enough to attack a bear on its own turf.

he digs 3 cylindrical holes in the dirt, about 2 feet deep with a 1 foot radius. He looks for 6 smoothish stones approximately the size of the holes.
He cuts the deer into small manageable pieces.

The holes are dug (roughly), the stones are found, the fire is started and the deer are cut.
What now?

Monsieur Dragon, he was supposed to set 1 small fire in each hole. Then put one stone in approximately the middle of the hole(but not so it blocks the entire passageway from fire to air) and put the raw meat on the stone. Then let the smoke from the fire cook the meat.
And that is how a hillbilly smokes meat to make beef jerky.
Also, save the deers' skeletal outline and pelt. Turn it into a literal meatbag to carry stuff in
Tell me I get points for the meatbag.

So, meats cooking. What now?

Yes, you did get points for the skin sac. I was actually hoping you'd do that.

Put the other stone(remember, I gathered 6 and there were 3 holes) on top of the hole. It'll cook faster and animals can't get at it. Plus, it's a self-putting-out fire! When the fire runs out of oxygen, it will stop burning.
Chardath sneakily follows the bear tracks and scent.
So did I redeem the fail?

You find the bear eating the deer you slaughtered pointlessly.

No, you have not.

You find the bear

Well...Chardath has no weapons...
Find a poison berry? I think Survival would be the relevant skill...

eating the deer you slaughtered pointlessly.
