I know that the forum games is a no AP forum but, I don't think it should, why? Well, I understand it would make it easy for everyone there to get AP but, at the same time people on there deserve it because the forum game if not the most it is one of the most active forum in the AG community and the people on their should be rewarded for it. Any thoughts?
I think when that forum was created, it was created for users to have fun, but not to gain AP. Besides, AP tends to draw spam, which would make the forum worse than it is. Therefore, AP is unnecessary in Forum Games. I'm active in that forum, but I don't mind not getting AP for posting there.
I could always think outside the box and remind the community that comments are likely to not yield points, but instead reputation. :P
But even if the forums were to still yield regular points for posting, I highly doubt that most of the content in the Forum Games forum could be passed off as legitimate posting. When we think of forums and threads, we typically think of discussion. There is no discussion in the Forum Games forum! Only interaction. People are playing text-based games. The reason why the Forum Games and Newcomers' forum aren't yielding AP is because of the lack of discussion. One is interacting by playing games, and the other is interaction by welcoming new users to the site and to help answer frequently asked questions. So what makes it different from the Support and Suggestions forum? It's still being used as a place to report site bugs and to suggest new ideas, which are discussable.

Oh so the point of the other forums is to get ap?
However I think that with the rep thing that wouldn't be a problem. If a very good post will show up in forum games I don't see anything wrong about giving rep to the maker. For example it would be fair if the creator of some successful RPG would get some reputation.

I see what are saying and it makes sense but, you already said it comments are for reputation not points. Also, it is a community even though we don't have discussion it is indeed a community I have made a lot of friend on AG because of the Forum games and many are recognized for making good forum games. I just think it should be allowed points because it is indeed a community that does welcome new users and help new comers.
For example it would be fair if the creator of some successful RPG would get some reputation.
This is also, something I wanted to bring up. The same way a topic in World, religion and politics gets big same thing happens in forum games. Locoace4 makes a lot of good RPG's, sporemaniac is known for his destroy planet series and create planet. I myself had a very successful thread "Black ops" could have gone father but, I let it die because I had now time to GM it. So, this being said they make awesome threads but, dont get points, "lolwut!?" That just doesn't seem fair.
Besides, AP tends to draw spam, which would make the forum worse than it is.
That's what moderators and what users like you and me are here for. If a moderator see's spam they delete it and if they don't see who is spamming then a user like you and me reports it. That is a simple solution to the spam problem.
So, this being said they make awesome threads but, dont get points, "lolwut!?" That just doesn't seem fair.
Just because someone makes an awesome thread doesn't mean they should be treated differently. If someone makes a good thread in The Tavern, they don't get 100 ap just because people like it.

I have implied *if* the points were called into question that the idea would still not surface.

Even if it is part of the community, these areas would make it effortless to gain AP, whereas in the standard areas of the community, you must contribute to the discussion to earn it. Even though the rules still need to be enforced in the 0-AP areas, the places are more lenient, even more than:
The AMW forum. O_O O_O O_O
So, this being said they make awesome threads but, dont get points, "lolwut!?" That just doesn't seem fair.
Oh sure, it's possible for them to get reputation for starting a popular RPG by up-voting the OP, but in the case of reputation in AG3, if the successive posters in the thread want to be rewarded, they darn well better make good posts.

Regardless of whether points would be rewarded or not, that isn't really what the message is being relayed for. It's why rating and commenting on games are so popular. They give out 100% more rewards than posting in the community. With AG3 predictably receiving a higher user base, having more to worry about just wouldn't be suitable. With there being more regulations in AG3, some giving to normal users, the need for moderators, accordingly, would be lesser, but they will still be there to enforce the rules. But you can't really expect many users to conform to reporting, especially since other standard users frown upon it. You know what they say about peer pressure.

When it comes to the "courtyard" forums. It isn't necessarily contributing anything just your attendance and your opinion. Especially in the tavern there are many topics that are meaningless and random, I am not saying it isn't suppose to be there it is but, that's what I am saying. You get AP for commenting on a thread "wolverine vs. Superman" but, you can get AP for commenting and participating in a community?
But you can't really expect many users to conform to reporting, especially since other standard users frown upon it
Yeah, if only there was some button that anonymously reports a comment as spam *looks at red flag* Oh look there is... That is what a flag is there for. If we are given the resources to be able to do something then we do it regardless of what other people think.

Sure, just posts that don't contribute to the discussion, like off-topic remarks and spam, will likely be deleted. In that sense, if you want your post to be preserved without a doubt, it's best to keep your posts by the book.

The difference here is that Wolverine vs. Superman is discussable, whereas forum games are not. Running in circles here. It's a sheer, fundamental rule. If your post does not contribute to the discussion and does not comply with the T&C, then it is likely to be removed. Forum games do not need this mechanism. They just need participation.

I am not saying that ArmorGames doesn't have the resources to combat bad posts, I'm saying that you can't expect users to do it.
Forum games get really spammy. If you're making a long RPG that can take a ton of posts, and it won't contribute to the website as much as the regular forums.
