Actually, I've decided that Stauffenberg is a private, and Osterhagen is a corporal. Pvt. Stauffenberg pokes his head just over the cover enough to see. "What are you doing!?" Ssgt. Kappel hisses, grabbing him by the back of his shirt and pulling him back into cover. "Do you think the Soviets are blind, or do you just want one of those stylish new holes in your head!" "Sorry, sir," Stauffenberg says. "But we can't just sit here." "Get used to it," Cpl. Osterhagen says. He's leaning against the wall, and cleaning his machine gun methodically. "I didn't join the army to sit on my ***!" Stauffenberg shouts angrily. Ssgt. Kappel smacks him upside the head with one hand, and clamps his hand over Stauffenberg's mouth with the other. "Be quiet," Kappel growls angrily. "You'll give away our position." He removes his hand from Stauffenberg's mouth again, and Stauffenberg glares at him angrily. "It's not like the Soviets can hear us over the gunfire and explosions," he protests. "I don't know about you, private," Ssgt. Kappel says with irritation, "but I'd rather not run the risk just because you're feeling impatient." Good?

"...A dentist," Beckenbauer says quietly. Osterhagen chuckles again. "What about you?" Stauffenberg asks. "Drafted," Osterhagen says. "Volunteered," Kappel says.
