My 2nd Attempt at this.

You unlock more store by lvling up. Your population is the MAXIUM amount you can get, You probably will get less. Ads will improve pop.
100 gold is 1 exp. If you have 5 pop you will get 5 pop for each building.

Store 1 : Cost 100 gold. 2 gold per pop Lvl 1
store 2 : cost 250 gold 5 gold per pop Lvl 3
Store 3 : Cost 500 gold 10 gold per pop lvl 5
Store 4 : cost 1000 gold 25 gold per pop lvl 10
Mega Store: Cost 10000 gold 100 gold per pop lvl 15

Ads will increse your Pop

Flyer: cost 100 1 pop lvl 2
Radio: cost 500 5 pop lvl 4
Tv: Cost 1000 10 pop lvl 7
Bill board : cost 5000 50 pop lvl 10
Movie: cost 10000 100 pop lvl 17
