This will take place during the ancient times (During Rome's reign pre-marian) where you play a soldier who has just volunteered with little money for equipment in the great armies of the ancient Civilizations.
During the timeline men in armies had to supply for their own equipment to join the army, so unless you came from a rich family you started off with little equipment, and with money gained from fighting, they purchased better and better equipment.
Prime Example: (one of) the lowest units in Roman armies were the Velites, men had no armor other than a Parma (round shield) and had a few javelins with a sword. Then the next up was the Hastati, with Lorica Segmenta (Chainmail), a Scutum (iconic Roman shield), Galea (Helmet) and a Gladius. Then to the Principes, and then the Triarii
But you get to play a soldier from any army, just pick a class of soldier (If you need help, just tell me what type of soldier you want, and i will give suggestions. But remember, you're a basic class.) and fight your way up through the ranks. Please remember when making a character, not all soldiers were 6 foot, over muscled meat heads. Just because you're tall doesn't make that a good thing, and not every soldier was in perfect physical condition.

you charge down and lob a javalin, others follow suite, as you pound down the javalins find their marks. men fall over long wooden shafts sticking out of them. the enemy officer barks something and their arms cocked back read to lob javelins. When you near them, they lob the javelins then rip their swords from their sheathes and raise shields, the Javelins send men tumbling to their deaths. You smash into and knock over one of the peltasts, xiphos breaking his shield, he rolls and throws the shield at you...hitting you in the face, a trickle of of blood runs from your mouth and he charges at you screaming
