Your battle suit clanks as weapons-fire ricochets off the tough armor. You're running through the trenches, the suit splashed with mud mixed with blood, burning streaks of gunfire erupting all around you. Your Autocannon blazes as you spray flak into the sky, ripping into the chassis of passing Araphan destroyers. Without warning, you pitch forward, landing over a trench. The impact tears the battle suit in half, snapping your spine as the hydraulic legs jackknife over your head. You see your legs lying ten metres away from you. You reach for your sidearm, but it's too late. An Araphan marine puts his electroblade between the shoulder blades on your armor. You look down at the shimmering blood now covering your visor. Then, everything around you blurs with motion. Everything glows yellow, and you feel yourself being pulled downward, leaving your torn body behind. Then, blackness.
When you come to, you can see a shadowy figure in front of you. He speaks.
"I am the Tetrarch. You have fallen in battle. Choose your fate."
(set up your sheet, and I will arrange your stats and stuff according to your choices.)

before i fill anything out, should i know anything about a story or something?
The story is on the top. It tells you the setting. Other than that, basically, on either side, you advance through the ranks, and go through several wars, and do exploration and diplomacy missions.
that's not really a story though, that's a back story, i mean what is going on, why is this happening, and why i am asking these questions. i was wondering if this was based off something i should know about before playing.

No, it's not based off of anything. To your other questions, the general story is effected by your decisions. It's adaptive to the players.
You wake up in a trench. Gunfire flying overhead. A Sergeant is yelling at you to get up and fight. To your right there are a few medkits [x3], some MRE's [x5], and a broken shovel in the mud. It's a dead end. To your left there is wreckage blocking the way. You and the sergeant are the only people alive in the trench. ------------------------------------------------------ Name: Rank: Marine Weight: 165 Height: 6'2" Build: Lightweight ------ Aptitude: 3 Power: 1 Regen: 0 Endurance: 1 Agility: 5 ------- Primary:StarBurst Trenchgun[shotgun] Secondary: Electroblade Inventory: Thermoaccelerator [x1], starbands[x5], Firebrand [x1]. They don't do human names. Their names mean something. Like Wolf, Or Strong, or something.
You come to in a cryo pod. You can't see anything through the bluish liquid, but you can hear the PA.
"Prepare to be deployed, Marines. Sell your mercy for honor!"
The pod opens, and you see you are in some sort of shuttle. A large door slides open, and you see a force field. Outside, there is a fortified line. Hundreds of marines like yourself are dashing around, and returning fire to the enemy. A large Araphan in golden armor yells for you to get out with the rest of the Grunts. Several run through the force field, and run for cover behind the line.
To your left there is a large, yelling commander. To your right there is a large, yelling Praetor. What do you do?
Only ones alive as in, there were others but they were killed? Just clarifying.
I grab two of the med-kits and hand them over to the Sarge. Then I grab the last one. I leave the MRE's. I peek over the top of the trench, trying to expose as little as possible.
