This is a crafting game I've been throwing around for a while now, but I think I should try and post it now or it'll keep bugging me, lol. Dark Constructs is based off an old RPG I used to have, Crafters Legacy, in which you find yourself on a shattered planet and must build stuff to survive. This is simply that, plus whole bunch more. ------------------------------------------------------------ You wake up on a small planetoid somewhere. You can remember some things about yourself, but how you got on that planetoid is confusing you, until the memories hit you hard...Large comet...impact...planet shatters...and then blank. You look around at your new home, and notice off in the distance that there are a few other planetoids like yours. The sun seems to have disappeared, so you going to have to build in a darkness. Better start on your dark constucts sooner, rather than later...
Name: Age: Gender: ---------------- Equipment: (backpacks, armor, etc, it's simply what you wear) Tools: Axe, Pick Axe, Hammer, Chisel Inventory: [Anything that you collect/make that doesn't go anywhere else goes here] (0/10) Supplies: [anything you have that is craftable] (0/10) ---------------- Skills: WoodCraft: 1 StoneCraft: 1 MetalCraft: 1 MachineCraft: 1
You will gain more types of crafts when they arise
You stand up and look around your planetoid some more. You see a bunch of trees over to one side, and what's left of a mountain behind you. You hear a couple strange noises from nearby. If your going to build, you better do it quickly...
It's too late to search for some caves. I head up to the forest and choose one solid and tall tree. I settle at its top, cutting a solid branch to make a spear. If it has any, I take some fruits from it and wait for the next day. I'll sleep when morning is back untill midday.

You do so, but miss. The squirrel-creature then jumps really far away, and starts making some weird noises, like hoo-week-a-hoo-week-a. Two more squirrel-creatures jump down from the trees, landing on either side of the first, hissing like crazy. What now?
Because I'll have to keep busy the whole night, I begin to cut large branches to increase the amount of confort in the top of the tree. I try to build a kind of platform as high as possible, keeping a passage to the bottom. I use young and flexible branches to link large branches together. I do that untill morning, staying aware of any strange noise.

OH DEAR NOTCH. They're ganging up on me...I hold my wood spike in one hand and the wood handle in the other, and slowly advance. When any of them pounce at me, I'll smack em with one weapon, defending with the other. Much easier to hit something coming at you than something jumping away.
Since the sun is missing, it will always be night time.

(THE CREATOR'S NAME SHALL NOT BE USED IN VAIN IN THIS THREAD xD)
You do so, but all three run off. One of them does spit at you before running. The spit lands on a tree, and you can see smoke and hear a sizzling coming from the spot. What now?
Oops.. I misunderstood sorry ! So, I go down from the tree, picking some little branches and one larger. With the larger one, I rub my chisel against it untill I make fire. I then use branches as torch. When this is done, I head up to the mountain, searching for some deep and non deep caves.
(In fact, we have to play with Minecraft rules ? My chisel should be steel and steel against wook usually makes heat then fire. But ok I'll try to remember that.)
I keep my sticks of wood (around five to ten depending on their size) and head up to the mountain, looking for caves and a little recess the the stone wall.
(1. That's not just a Minecraft rule, that's an actual rule IN REAL LIFE. You can make other ways to make fire later like matches and blowtorches and flamethrowers and stuff. And anyways, if your wondering when the Creeprs come out, THEY WILL NOT! This game is not based around Minecraft in any way, other than the fact it's a crafting/building/survival game. It's not SUPPOSED to sound blocky! 2. The_Gentleman tried doing the same with his axe. I allowed it, but only that time. All your tools are made of iron.)
You do so. You find a shallow cave you can crawl into. What now?
(Understood ! Sounds good to me) With my pickaxe, I try to determine if the stone is solid or not. If it is friable enough, I increase the size of the cave untill I can stand in. It would be a good beginning for an fortified base. If it is too solid for my tools,I give an eye to the cave, watching if there isn't anything interesting (like a different ore or animal tracks) then I pursue the exploration of the stone wall.

and i'll need leather....gah, I need cows! On the back of my house, I chop down 4 of my logs to make fence posts and make a fence for cows. I use the remaining log to make more wood planks, and carefully replace the dirt part of my house with the planks. After that, I look for water-A river, a lake, anything, and look for clay.
You manage to mine out the cave enough so you can stand, but that took away quite a bit of hunger. Will this be your permanent housing? (And what do you mean by a stone wall?)

I....have no idea, so I just walk in a straight line and look for anything interesting, water in particular. If I do find water, I plan to eventually move my house there. Nah, first i'll try and make a cart, then move. How to make a cart? Y'know, like a wheelbarrow.
