Lol I was only joking. But serioulsy you school sucks if it doesn't give you options. Also microsoft office isn't worth anything since there are a bunch of software that do the same thing... cough *open office*. Also since your talking if future tense why are they giving you CS4? Too cheap to buy a liceanse of CS5? The school isn't doing anything special personally I would tell the school to go away then buy XP, I powerfull enought laptop and student version of cs4. This would end up much cheaper than your combo plus xp runs really fast on modern technology sooo win. But i'm curios how much they are runnning your sweet combo at.
This was just another random rant based on my opinion of the matter this does not constitute the above as a valid arugment, but only as a way to break through the brodem of this forum and my own anger at making a quicksort algorith with assembly language for 20 hours straight.
They're doing it for universal interactivity...so that students can't claim they didn't have software etc... They did financial arrangements and purchased CS4 already, so no CS5. but I can always upgrade later.
The CS4, plus Mac, plus Microsoft Office, is for about $1000, so that's a pretty badass deal imo.
That's funny I haven't seen mac laptops that are under $1000 unless they are 5 years old or refurbished. Do you have the specs for the actually laptop?
Better yet get a desktop pc computer which money wise is mac lap > pc lap > desktop and is 100% more upgradeable and powerfull. Forget about ms office since it doesn't do anything that other software can't replicated. Personally I never work on anything as demanding as cs5 on my laptop. When I have a 200 times more powerfull desktop.
I think I read something about that but I couldn't find it. What are you doing in which you require to buy an mac laptop? Seems kinda silly to use a laptop for flash if you serious about it when a desktop is much more better.
Well the school's making us use this particular laptop if we want one. And anyone sophomore and lower are required to bring one. Great idea to get the trial Dark, that should last me close enough to getting the laptop.
Kurt, there is no way CS5 is $400...wow I just checked. It's $450. That's crazy awesome...I'm so going to upgrade in a year. Unless CS6 is out, in which case I'll get that... haha that'd be awesome.
Darkroot he needs a $&%^ing laptop for SCHOOL. He can't get a desktop for SCHOOL because he can't carry around the monitor and the computer!!!!!!!!!

Or keep reinstalling the trial for the whole summer if you know where to look and what to do.
Also rjbman you never explained what your were taking and why you need it for school. Is this for college or you in private school or some speical program?
I'm in a private high school and they're doing a whole bunch of new crap... we're having three trimesters instead of two semesters and we're having five 65 minute classes instead of seven 45 minute classes. Plus the computers.
