The project is a physics based puzzle game developed in flash, but also translated into Java. The real goal of that is to offer a broader game, with more puzzles, possibly additional gameplay modes or level creation as a download purchase for phones (iPhone, Droid etc). Profits from this product will be directly shared, percentages negotiable based on how much of the workload you are capable of.
Effective contribution on this project will lead to further profitable collaboration and possibly paid game development positions.

The writing and game design are solid, and a very finished idea is on the table (Several actually). Our greatest need is in Programming, and Animation/Art. Sound can be handled by the writer, and there will be dedicated marketing/publishing of this project.

Programming -
-AS3 Knowledgeable
-Capable of prototyping for playtesting
-Works quickly and Efficiently
-Can handle small projects solo, but also works well in a team
-Java experience an extreme plus - not *necessary* for first iteration.

Who are you? Where's your portfolio and company website?

No one should feel safe working for "free until profits come in" with anyone who doesn't give ample credentials.

Alarmist Media is a company of a few guys who are looking to break into the industry in a more serious manner. Myself personally, and the company as a brand, don't have any current releases. Our plans are more structured and thorough than your usual "Hey I want to make games" hobbyist, and if you'd like to speak personally we can share some more specific details and insights into out plans.

As for the security of the profit-sharing, if everyone wants to join an established group, and every group only recruits established workers, then nobody is really going to get anywhere. There will be a written, signed agreement as to the profit-split of this game, and any others we collaborate on, as well as guarantee of appropriate credits etc.

PS- Site is still underdevelopment, tryin to do some neat things there.

Guys, don't believe this guy until he gets something up on the web that he can prove was done by "Alarmist Media".

If he needs someone to do the art and programming, then what exactly does "Alarmist Media" do themselves besides the sound effects? Can't a programmer market and publish their flash file also?

Why would I need a team that can only do sound engineering and marketing/publishing to take my profit when if I can do the art and programming I'm pretty sure that I can handle the easy stuff.

And PS- If your site isn't live on the web, don't advertise.

Clearly, plasma, they do the idea of the game. All you have to do is art and coding.

Guys, don't believe this guy

Thank you for your clear, and unprofessional, statement that you aren't interested. Good day.

rjbman - Yes we do have a website www.alarmistmedia.com, we are a registered company Alarmist Media, LLC. We have an EIN a fictitious name registration.

Our company's games will not just be hosted free on the web, Alarmist releases will use an array of options from micro-transactions to pay-to-upgrade games, or using web games as demos for downloadable product.

We're trying to build up a serious gaming studio, which entails building capital, copywriting your work - especially when it ties into future projects- negotiating with publishers / platform distribution (be that iPhone, xbox etc) and that is all being handled for you. A broad spread of sales with reserved income to keep the lights on and concepted, written and scored games on the table to come to. While we may be able to knock out amateur art, or sloppy code - our work would be admittedly slow and low quality.

Hence, we are seeking talented - if inexperienced - programmers and artists to speed this up and really build something worthwhile, as a game and a studio. So feel free, drop a line, talk to me about what games YOU want to make, what we're working on and how we can help each other. You don't have to be amazing, just willing to keep working at what you do, keep striving to be better and stick to a project.

I agree a 4 year old kid could think of a game.

Maybe you need help with your website too?

plasmafish I do agree with you that Alarmist has no credentials and seems a bit unprofessional but I'll wait to see what happens to his invalid template website.

A set of interconnected webpages, usually including a homepage, generally located on the same server, and prepared and maintained as a collection of information by a person, group, or organization.

Technically no. Since it doesn't really contain any information that anyone could use.

Well, they obviously do not have web designers on their team. Alarmist Media, LLC, "Designing Forward". What a joke.... no material at all, just promises of someday making it big with their spectacular ideas/marketing and sound engineering. Which there are no samples of.

Alarmist, even though you seem to speak professional, your business does not back it up. You still have a lot to learn before you will recruit good talent.

And don't try to give us this credit, "It was requested that our website at least be shown while under contruction. Templates FTW."

Templates work amazing for beginners and people who have massive amounts of content. You obvious fall into the first category.

Another big question, what was your net profit last year?

I think they're trying to say that they have no profit, and no previous game-making experience or coding/art experience.

But hey, they can do sound.

...excuse me for not feeling like jumping on this great opportunity.
