The project is a physics based puzzle game developed in flash, but also translated into Java. The real goal of that is to offer a broader game, with more puzzles, possibly additional gameplay modes or level creation as a download purchase for phones (iPhone, Droid etc). Profits from this product will be directly shared, percentages negotiable based on how much of the workload you are capable of. Effective contribution on this project will lead to further profitable collaboration and possibly paid game development positions.
The writing and game design are solid, and a very finished idea is on the table (Several actually). Our greatest need is in Programming, and Animation/Art. Sound can be handled by the writer, and there will be dedicated marketing/publishing of this project.
Programming - -AS3 Knowledgeable -Capable of prototyping for playtesting -Works quickly and Efficiently -Can handle small projects solo, but also works well in a team -Java experience an extreme plus - not *necessary* for first iteration.
Come on guys, let's not over-exaggerate here. We simply do not have the information to validate Alarmist's claims - which means we don't know if everything he says is true, but it also means we have NO proof whatsoever that he's lying! For all we know, they could be exactly what Alarmist said - a young, albeit inexperienced team who want to make it in the world of online gaming. Cut the guys some slack.
@Alarmist: Perhaps you chose the wrong forum for your request. Not that it's out of place, but I haven't seen much result from the collab request threads here yet. And yeah... I can completely understand if the comments in this thread so far haven't exactly given you a warm welcome. On behalf of the whole AG community, sorry.
Collabs usually work a lot better if you actually know, in real life, the person or people you are working with. I think it would be really weird to just try to spend a lot of time working on part of a game that you don't know if the other people will be holding up their end of the bargain. While I realize you are trying to get off the ground, you should probably find some friends and make a game with them.
Guys..... Why don't you just try it?! Why don't you just trust him??? Is it so difficult to make a game and trust alarmist that he gives a profit to you??? The people on this world are starting to do strange things lately.........
ok, so the website looks like a template we get ina html class, i would work, i may even do it for free, sounds fun, and id like to know i was making games, but i dontknow if im good enough for that yet, but hey! and it looks like we on the AG community have scared them away, so......sorry alarmist on behalf of the AG community, we dont understand what it is you are doing, we would like to not get swindled or ripped off, but this is an opportunity at making games for money, so there is probably people out there who would, but it would be better for everyone if we all knew what was going on. Right now this looks like a numch of kids starting a highschool club, this doesnt seem professional, and when youre trying to be serious and have money involved, than it should be professional.
good luck with youre games and getting anyone you may need together, hope it works out. maybe one day your company will be big, and we all will come to this thread and see that we had a chance to get in on it, but maybe not, either way, good luck!
