This is a bit of a forum game, but at the same time it has the capacity to result in a bit of poetry, so it goes here. I'm going to supply a line of poetry, and the following poster is to create a poem using the line I gave as their first. Along with their poem, they supply a line for the next person to write poetry on. No restrictions on the type of line or poetry; just keep the line open ended.

Here's the first line:

A mountain pokes out awkward in the mist

What shall we do?
with our lives,
and our crys.
What shall we do?

What shall we do?
with you lies,
and our whys.
What shall we do?

As I sit on the hill
I look at over the sea
A salty breeze flows through the air
Soft waves lap at the shore
As the sun sets over the horizon

Suffocating

Suffocating
I turn and grope for air
As the truth of the matter
Falls on me in
A mundane fashion.
The most terrible deaths
Are those of asphyxiation,
Pulling yourself up and down,
Up and down,
Up and down.
Up, down, until you can do it
No more.
A slow death,
Enough time to reflect
On the pain
And the suffering
And the sin
And the
Shadow.

The ruins of a golden age long gone

The ruins of a golden age long gone
Glimmering in the light of a sunrise
Evidences of long gone world at war
Peace, harmony, progress, happiness
All destroyed in one fell swoop
How fragile is this delicate peace?

Life behind a window

Life behind a window,
A dull day.
Stuck here all day,
Wasting life away.

Until one day,
I leave.
Infront a window,
I feel free.

No line provided? I'll just do your last line then.

I feel free,
Free as a fly
That rides on a swatter's gust,
Free as the water
That pounds on iron rust,
Free as a sword
Drawn from a lover's scorn,
Free as a child
Who escapes the dark and is born.

Have you been where I have been?

Have you been where I have been?

Caught in a time bewteen was and will, existing right now,
right here, free of the needless, groudless, dispensible
redundancies that sting us like so many needles, needing
only what exists right now, right here, watching as all
the excess exits, and I become an exile unto myself, my
own floating isle interjected into the present, the aisle
inserted, implanted, and embedded where no shoppers can
find it except me, a free radicle finding another to live
in, becoming inseperable, growing unified with this present
from the eternal Now, a drop joining another until I am
where and when I am, a single entity, a place but a person,
the past and future no longer falling, no longer
collaspsing for they have crashed long ago, no longer
anything to fall from, for I am unattached from all but
this Now, no longer watching the falling past, the
regressing future, for my drop, my now, my self, completes
my vision.

I am where all I can see is me.

Have... have you been there?

I just really wanted to write a long run on sentence. That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it.

How long has it been?
Since I held you in my arms.
How long has it been?
Since I kissed those cherry lips.
How long has it been?
Since I felt that alabaster skin.
How long has it been?
Since I told you, I loved you.

It can't be the first time.
Will you do this again,
Am I to see.
You did this,
To me.
Why,
Why.

The rain falls slowly:
Dropping slowly, tumbling slowly,
Dripping down a window sill,
Washing through the gutter till,
Mixing with the ashy mud,
Carrying life amidst a flood.

Because we have to say goodbye,
our paths split.
never talking again,
going our own ways.
forever parting,
goodbye.

Fire it up,
Drive away,
On your shiny new motorbike,
That you got today.

Its a present,
From your Mam and Dad,
They knew this present,
Would make you GLAD!!!
