well all game maker started with a simple game and once they were more experienced they made beast games. view krins first games and johns first games they were very simple
Finally, I've had time to make a decent response. BeastMode, I didn't make it painfully obvious that I'm an artist, but I thought it would be noticeable. Salsathegeek, you brought up the idea of doing a simpler game. My plan is do do several games before making something like Colony. I want to have some experience, and pick up some programming skills while making those simpler games. I didn't plan on bringing up the RTS idea until later, but dude77 didn't seem to get that. If you're curious, he quit. He said, "this is gonna be to much work, i quit." Though, I have a feeling he wouldn't have been much help if he had stayed. I understand his point about games being a lot of work, but I want to at least give it a try before I give up. ZeroComp, Darkroot, and Beastmode10, I'm not looking to make a clone of Colony. I want to make an RTS with similar elements, but as a whole, very different. Beatmode, I don't want to sound like an a**, but why make commentary on something you haven't read? Also, calling someone a "Colony addict," when they use it to show some things they want in a game is quite an assumption. NoobSlayer, thank you for the offer, I will think about it.
I guess I was mistaken about you, Turk. When I saw dude posting spam like an incompetent idiot, I probably became negatively biased towards you, or something.
But anyway, have fun making games in the future, and good luck
Then why is there no art on this forum post? The best way to get people to work with you is to be nice and show you are competent enough to bring a project to completion.
So unless you post some art you made for the game (because if you are serious you should have some done), I believe no one will ever be motivated enough to join you.
