You are an entrepreneur. You want to start a business, right?
What kind of business? Who knows? Here's a list of them.

Medical Clinic***
Factory*
Research Lab***
Prison
Restaurant
School(primary or secondary)**
School(college)***
Make your own

Now, we all know that the above is a little vague. Why? Well, that would be because you will be given opportunities to branch off.
Also; you see those little asterisks next to some of the businesses? That indicates what you and/or your employees need to have in order to work there. Of course, a higher degree would also be acceptable
*-High School Diploma.
**-Master's Degree.
***-Doctoral Degree.
The higher degree required, the more money people are willing to pay.

EMPLOYEES
At any point in time, you can start hiring people, but be warned, if you do so you will be absolutely swimming in resumes! It's your job to decide who you want to hire for the job based on the resume and the interview. There is no maximum number of employees that you can have, nor is there really a minimum, but the prudent entrepreneur knows that balance is necessary. Why? If you have a big business later in the game but not many employees, chances are that you're understaffed and your employees that you have will start doing sub-par work. And if you're a small company with too many employees, chances are that you will be paying too much in employees' wages and won't make a lot of money. So be careful with that. There are minimum wage laws in place, but you can try to skirt those, as well as other things such as working conditions. But if an employee tells on you, you'll pay a fine, so watch out! Other than minimum wages and working conditions, anything is legal. You can have holiday bonuses, vacations, insurance, employee benefits, etc. Even though this costs money, the more of these things you give your employees the happier they will be. If they are unhappy, they could quit, do badly, go on strike, or something like that, so be careful.

DEGREES
You saw above that some businesses require a degree, and you need a degree to run them! Unfortunately, it costs money to get a degree. Here are the degrees and their costs.
High School Diploma: $100
Master's Degree: $1,000
Doctoral Degree: $10,000
Now, as a basic rule of thumb, the higher education a job needs, the more money you stand to make on that business, so it's really a gamble.
You start the game with $50,000, so you have enough for any degree.

Please note that the Required Structures and Required Tools are just that; required. If you really want to do well, it would be a good idea to have more than the bare minimum.
Another thing; in most businesses, you can take on apprentices(like medical students or residents at a medical center) and they will pay you to let one of your employees teach them the trade.
Watch out for lawsuits! If one of your employees messes up, if you mess with your employees, or something like that, you're liable to be sued!
Now that you know all that, here's your signup sheet. Good luck with this Business Opportunity!

Yeah, no, bad idea. You're a crappy fighter even if you have a nightstick.
You try to pull them apart but you just get punched and kicked and are forced to fall back.

There is one(1) other guard, and it's not his shift. He doesn't sleep here, mainly because there aren't any employee quarters. Banting-Smith has the day shift. He's at home.

Mysterious Dude: *taps loco on the shoulder* You can call the cops in for ya. You'd have to pay them for showing up, but still.
