The My Side of the Mountain series are my favorite books. I had an idea when I picked up the book again: I bet I can make a RPG out of this. And here it is, lol. It is about running away from home, and trying to live off the land. Here is your character sheet:

Name:
Age: (between 13 and 17)
Money: $40
Traps: None
Tools: Ax, Backpack
Inventory:
Living Area: None
Pets: None
HP: 100/100
XP: 0/100
Know-How: 1 (this is your level)

For this game, the players will also need pencil and papaer, because this is also a bit of a simulation (although I wouldn't suggest running away from home, lol). You will need to take notes of what plants you can/can't eat, how to make stuff, and other things. All the thing that you learn in here might help you survive by yourself out in the woods (but like I said earlier, I wouldn't suggest running away).

You make it to Delhi, New York. It was at the end of the taxi's route. "$30 please," he asked. After you pay him
(-$30), you head up towards the woods. When you got to the forests edge, you relize you don't know how to make fire or tools from the enviroment. You saw a library on the way up the mountain. What do you do? (this next part, paper and pencil would come in handy)

You went through the different kinds of rocks faster than a carol could sing the "haleluja" song. finally, on the last two rocks, one was a dark color, the other some type of metal ore you found, you started hitting them against each other, and got sparks (the dark is flint, the ore is steel), the sparks fell into the dry leaves, and a little blaze began. What do you do?

you know, it might be better to have that book than a piece of paper, cause all the stuff you learn about surviving in the wild is either right there, or in here, lol.

You get all the knoledge you can cram into your head (+30 XP), and you know how to make a fire, catch game, make traps, and a whole bunch of other stuff. But, you relise, you need flint and steel to make fire. Now what?

The next day, you get up, and then something hits you hard from behind. You then see a Goshawk (an extremely dangerous bird of prey) had attacked you. What do you do?
