I grew up atheist for 16 years. I had always kept an open mind towards religion, but never really felt a need to believe in it. My sister started going to a Wednesday night children's program at a church. Eventually, I was dragged into a Christmas Eve service. Scoffing, I reluctantly went, assuming that this was going to be a load of crap, but when I went, I felt something. Something that I've never felt before. I felt a sense of empowerment and a sense of calling. Jesus called upon my soul, just like he did with his disciples. he wanted me to follow him. Now, my life is being lived for Christ. He died on the cross for my sins, and the sins of everyone who believes in him. He was beaten, brutalized, struck with a whip 39 times, made to carry a cross up to the stage of his death. This I believe to be true, and I can never repay him for what he has done. I still have my struggles with Christianity, but I've found this bit of information most useful. Religion is not comprehensible in the human mind, because we cannot comprehend the idea of a perfect and supreme being, a God, but we can believe it in our heart, and that's the idea of faith. Faith is, even though everything rides against me believing in Jesus, I still believe in him because I know that it's true in my heart. I invite my fellow Brothers and sisters of the LORD to talk about how Jesus has helped you in your life. No atheists and no insults please
Well, I guess I kinda did start that... impossible challenge is impossible^^
If you feel the need to just step out of the thread till you're ready again :P
Ok thx fire
Not a problem
I have learned about the basics bout it in school and those links were intersteing and yes they might be evidence but its not hard proof.
It basicly is. We have a lot of evidence that evoulution happened and we haven't found enough evidence that tells us it didn't.
That, my common point against "well it's not ENTIRELY proven" etc is that it's the most logical possibility - whilst still falsifiable it is still the most backed up one.
As a long time Christian, I have found to really big things that I don't like about Christianity. The first is that Christians to take the fact that the Bible says that they are forgiven and free too far. Just because you are a Christian does not mean that you are perfect. Guess what!? Jesus went out of his way to gather the *****s, the murderers, and the tax collectors to forgive their sins, NOT to make them perfect. So please don't let arrogance make you push people away from Christianity.
The second thing is, in Christianity God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent so why does everyone (Christian and non) think that He couldn't have made evolution? Why do you think that He couldn't have started the big bang? He has the power and imagination (Yeah, imagination. Don't you think that a God who made Sunsets, Squash, Chocolate, and Orchids would have an awesome imagination?) why do you think He can't do it?
Lastly, as a good friend of mine once said "The church is like a dysfunctional family. They sometimes make you so mad that you could swear. Other times they make you so ashamed that you are associated with them. But they are your family and you should love and cherish them."
In the 279 pages of Christianity FTW, this has been a discussed case.
That is NOT the case, and how would we be stupid enough to believe so? He's supposedably able to do anything, but when we have more logical explanations and furthermore no need to have this magical being there for them to happen, there is no reason to believe he is real.
The deterrance isn't the apparent idiocy you can see in many Christians "oints", but rather that there is no greater truth behind their behaviour.

Assuming he exists and is omnipotent I don't think he couldn't. However his hand in such things would have been completely superfluous and akin to someone opening an automatic door. The natural mechanisms behind these events offer plenty enough explanation for how they happen and non require the intervention of a deity.
But they are your family and you should love and cherish them.
Give me a link that gives me 100% sure complete hard proof that evolution is real
First off a theory can never be said of have been proven as it has to remain falsifiable to allow for predictive capabilities. A theory however can also be a fact in that it is an objectively verifiable observation. Evolution holds this status as being both theory and fact as it both offers an explanation and has been objectively observed and verified multiple times.
Now as I have already pointed out I have already offered you links listing instances where we have observed evolution happening both in the lab and in nature. Observation means we have seen it happen first hand. As such I have no idea what sort of evidence your asking for here.
