I grew up atheist for 16 years. I had always kept an open mind towards religion, but never really felt a need to believe in it. My sister started going to a Wednesday night children's program at a church. Eventually, I was dragged into a Christmas Eve service. Scoffing, I reluctantly went, assuming that this was going to be a load of crap, but when I went, I felt something. Something that I've never felt before. I felt a sense of empowerment and a sense of calling. Jesus called upon my soul, just like he did with his disciples. he wanted me to follow him. Now, my life is being lived for Christ. He died on the cross for my sins, and the sins of everyone who believes in him. He was beaten, brutalized, struck with a whip 39 times, made to carry a cross up to the stage of his death. This I believe to be true, and I can never repay him for what he has done. I still have my struggles with Christianity, but I've found this bit of information most useful. Religion is not comprehensible in the human mind, because we cannot comprehend the idea of a perfect and supreme being, a God, but we can believe it in our heart, and that's the idea of faith. Faith is, even though everything rides against me believing in Jesus, I still believe in him because I know that it's true in my heart. I invite my fellow Brothers and sisters of the LORD to talk about how Jesus has helped you in your life. No atheists and no insults please
Maybe that guy would also like Atheists to wear armbands that showed they were atheists so that true god-fearing Christians wouldn't have to associate with atheists? Jesus Christ, I don't know whether to laugh or cry, some people are really stupid (this isn't a recent revelation of mine but I've found it to be a very accurate one).
THat's probably one of the most offensive things I've seen in a while. Just the idea that we would need to know who the self-admitted atheists are for "information purposes" is bad enough, but the fact that they compare them to sex offenders and hate groups is even wrose. The whole country would **** itself if an article came out demanding that Christians in the area be documented like a sex offender's list, but of course, it's okay to attack the minority. I'm even more disgusted by the condescending tone of the article, acting as though atheists could only possibly oppose this idea out of shame of their "atheist religion" (not a religion). In general, the atheists I know wouldn't want strangers to have access to information that would be cause for discrimination against them, and that's exactly what this article is proposing. 'Pastor' Mike should be ashasmed of himself.
I'm not sure how many of you guys are familiar with the Ryan report but it's basically naming and shaming the priests who abused children in their trust. Now it took a very long time for us to get a published list of name, as the church protected them and let them continually abuse others.
So when a severe crime is being committed repeatedly and nationwide, we aren't allowed to see who by for years? Yet when someone doesn't believe in God, Boom, we know who they are?
that dude that came up whit the idea for that registry is the guy your mom ment when she told you to not talk whit strangers. he should be put in a institution for people whit a mental illness.
Yea, It seems if you post that you're a christrian people try to argue with you. But guys, It's his opinion. If you Don't believe there is a God then that's on You. I personaly Would like to see Him dancing on streets of Gold one day. See ya there, man!
So, basically you say "leave christians alone because it's their opinion", and then you post a picture that absolutely doesn't state what atheism is about (and is scientifically incorrect in every aspect) though it's supposed to make fun of atheism. Yup, you make perfect sense.

... This? :P
That, and I could argue about the "It's peoples opinion, leave them alone" philosophy.
As Christians we are entitled to our opinion, yes and that would be because we're human and it is our right to have an opinion. Atheists are also entitled to this right too, because guess what? Despite popular belief: they are human too !

What exactly are you trying to say?
Hehe, I found a picture...
I have a picture for you, but don't take it seriously: [url=http://solutionproblem.files.wordpress.com/2011/06/cant-tell-if-trolling.jpg] First of all, atheism is a lack of believe in God. It doesn't state how the universe came into existence, it doesn't say how humans came into existence, it says nothing else. Secone, the guy who wrote that has clearly no idea of the Big Bang Theory, abiogenesis and evolution.

Yes you are entitled to your own opinion however that holds no baring to the truth of the matter. No does it justify or validate any claims being made.
As for the picture it's a perfect example of a strawman argument.
