Okay, so, apparently TRF wants to lose the old thread until such time as Dibs sees fit to return.
So, as per his request, I have made a new thread. I, of course, don't see exactly why this is necessary, but I suppose it won't hurt anything to accommodate Turf.
So, I guess this will just be a continuation of the prior thread with the old characters and we'll pick up where Dibs left off. I suggested that Noob DM this one, but being that he doesn't have any of the source material beyond what's on the internet, he declined. That being the case, if there are no objections, I guess I will be DMing this one. I won't have access to my books myself for another week or two, so if it's okay, I guess I'll be using a homemade campaign. And as far as the campaign goes, expect to see a lot of stuff that's not exactly D&D canon, because, as I said, I don't have my sourcebooks right now. Unless, of course, someone else wants to DM, in which case, I'd be more than happy to step aside.
Unfortunately, I do not think that this game will be accepting any more players. This thread is here for the sole purpose of reducing clutter in the other. It will actually be a lot easier - it was getting to be a pain, navigating that other one with all the pages it had(we were almost at 4,000!).
To start off, I'm going to request that we all post our sheets(I'll track mine down later) and if there is anyone who would like to DM or has any requests to that effect or which concern the next campaign, speak now or forever hold your peace.
Cheers.

"Well, keep the whiskey flowing."

He passes you another drink.
"This here's the truth, too," he says, then the old bartender laughs, almost maniacally. "Kartak? He's evil, that one is. Went to lich, I heard. Runs round with a ring of some sort. Bounces from here to there and back again. Really oughtta die, that one.
O'course, he ain't no worse than his cousin, neither. Maybe even better. Cousin, descendant, whatever he is. Lord Chardath Spulzeer, he calls hisself. Real piece o' work, that one. Fer my money, there's the one with the problem."

"Well, what's with him?"

"Chardath? He's mad! Mind of a lemurbird and gone 'round the bend, which is to say. He's a few French fries short of a Happy Meal, that one. Envy, I think, and obsession. He come in here a few times before, Chardath. Frankly, I hope he never does again. Drove away all me customers, he did.
His face was buried in his ale, ye see, an' he was a moanin' and groanin' about Kartak. Then he says, laughing he says, 'I got 'im, I got 'is power from 'im. Now I gotta keep it.' Then he turns into an eye faucet, if ye know what I mean, an' starts a'weepin' that 'is sister-'e never 'ad one, by the way-was dead and he did it cause Kartak made 'im do it. Like I said, Chardath ain't exactly the sanest person 'round.
Well, maybe, an' maybe not. Liches don' care 'bout us. They do their lich thing, they do their magic, but they usually jes' kill within their own, ye know? I mean, poor mortals like me 'n' you don' exactly figure into their scheme o' things. Immortals think immortal thoughts, y'know, and leave us alone fer the most part. It'd be like a grown man huntin' down an ant, a lich huntin' down a human.
Wanna know what I think?" The bartender continues without waiting for your answer. "I think Chardath staged that raid on Riatavin to throw suspicion and rancor onto Kartak. Kartak ain't nearly that stupid, carve his sigil in the temple doors. Liches are smart, Chardath ain't, and that's the name o' that particular ditty. Castle Spulzeer? Ye don' wanna know. Now get out o' here, unless yer jes' interested in buying more drinks. I got nothing else to say."

The only other tavern in town is The Badger's Den. It's mostly filled with caravan drivers and brutish guards.

Bel smiles, downs his drink and passes over 10 gp.
"Thank you very much for the information. I guess I will leave now."

Well never mind then, besides it looks like we have enough info.

No, you want to go to the Badger's Den? You should. It's best to get info from several sources, because one person's word might not be reliable.

"No, thank ye." The bartender pockets the gold. "Ye come back here anytime, ya hear?"

That was my original reason for going to a different tavern, so (sound of dice rolling) I guess I'll go.

"If you see me here again, it means I didn't die."
He laughs and walks out.
What are his options to go to?

That was my original reason for going to a different tavern, so (sound of dice rolling) I guess I'll go.

You enter the Badger's Den. Several of the caravan drivers, bodyguards, caravan guards, etc. are sitting at a table talking.
"They say the ruckus at Riatavin killed 30," says the first, taking a pull from his glass. "And not only that," his voice drops to a whisper. "They say Kartak's sigil was carved into the door of Mystra's Temple."
Another, a graybeard, nods. "An evil omen, that."
"Aye," interjects a heavy-set, muscular man. "It may be time to put an end to the Spulzeers."
"And how d'ye propose to do that?" The first man laughs. "One of em's a dead sorcerer who walks and the other's a live terror who don't." He chuckles. "Elminster hisself would have a time o' it. They say there's nasty ghosts in that castle, as well."
"What I've heard o' that place," says a third, a stocky man with a thick beard, "I'd be more surprised if it weren't haunted."
"You really think Kartak would do something like that?" asks the graybeard. "I mean, I know he's capable of it an' all, but why would he care about Riatavin?"
"I wouldn't be so sure about that," says the stocky, bearded man. "About the raid on Riatavin, I mean." He speaks slowly, but with authority. "I saw Kartak that night, 'bout the same time Riatavin was hit."
The others look incredulous. "Nah, I know what yer thinking, but I saw him plain as day. He was trying to get some leather strapping, said it was for a harness. I sent him down to Cluny's. It weren't Kartak what bit Riatavin, but the mayor o' that place don't want to hear it."
