Okay, so, apparently TRF wants to lose the old thread until such time as Dibs sees fit to return. So, as per his request, I have made a new thread. I, of course, don't see exactly why this is necessary, but I suppose it won't hurt anything to accommodate Turf. So, I guess this will just be a continuation of the prior thread with the old characters and we'll pick up where Dibs left off. I suggested that Noob DM this one, but being that he doesn't have any of the source material beyond what's on the internet, he declined. That being the case, if there are no objections, I guess I will be DMing this one. I won't have access to my books myself for another week or two, so if it's okay, I guess I'll be using a homemade campaign. And as far as the campaign goes, expect to see a lot of stuff that's not exactly D&D canon, because, as I said, I don't have my sourcebooks right now. Unless, of course, someone else wants to DM, in which case, I'd be more than happy to step aside. Unfortunately, I do not think that this game will be accepting any more players. This thread is here for the sole purpose of reducing clutter in the other. It will actually be a lot easier - it was getting to be a pain, navigating that other one with all the pages it had(we were almost at 4,000!). To start off, I'm going to request that we all post our sheets(I'll track mine down later) and if there is anyone who would like to DM or has any requests to that effect or which concern the next campaign, speak now or forever hold your peace. Cheers.
Sorry. Either my dad's watching a video or he changed the security settings so we're currently "sharing" our wi-fi with half the neighborhood, because my internet is moving like a turtle on molasses juice. I thought it would be obvious. I said that there were fireplaces for each cardinal direction big enough for a person to walk into, as soon as you entered the room. If you couldn't see them, then I would not have told you about them.
You approach the southwestern fireplace. It's a large red brick affair, easy big enough for a grown man to stand in. There is an inch-thick film of dust and ash spread across the bottom of the fireplace itself. The fireplace is lined with several crumbling bricks, with several gaps and even more cracks.
Bel takes twenty and searches the fireplace thoroughly. He leaves no stone unturned(or brick, as it were). As he touches one brick, he finds that it is loose. He pries it out of the fireplace with some difficulty, and finds a thin bone-white ring with intricate designs and mystic markings etched in ebony. When he touches the ring, the Glim Gauntlet glows brightly.
He slips the ring on. "What next?" "So what's with the ring."
*sigh* Need I quote myself?
"The first item is an ancient crown of battered silver, located in a great chamber beneath the cellar level of the castle. You must be very careful with this. Do not touch it directly, and do not cast spells on it, as I believe it may be dangerous. Use the glim-gauntlet to pick it up and then wrap it swiftly and tightly. The second item is a ring of pale ivory. It is etched with an intertwining line design in ebony. I wish its return for, shall we say, sentimental reasons. Please be careful with it. You can find it hidden in the southwest fireplace of the great hall. The third object is a book titled Legendary of Phantoms and Ghosts. I need it for some research I am conducting. No special care need be taken with it, just don't damage it. You can find it in the library. Once again, I must warn you to beware of my cousin, Kartak. He is, as I said, a powerful wizard, and I suspect that he might be quite mad as well. Oh, there is one thing I have forgotten. In a room just off the great chamber that holds the crown, you may find a discarded knife. It's nothing valuable, really, but as Kartak inquired about it specifically, I have a feeling it should be kept out of his hands. If you obtain the knife for me in addition to the other items, I will give you a bonus reward.
You approach the western room that's closest to you(furthest south). The door once had a lock on it, but it's long since decayed to nothingness, and you easily gain entrance. The room appears to have once been a guest room, with a bed pushed in the corner, a bookshelf(all the books have long since disintegrated), a closet, a mirror, a vanity, etc. There are two doors in the room: one that leads out to the great hall again, and another that it shares with the neighboring room. There appears to be nothing of interest here. As soon as you enter the room, a ghostly chorus of sorrowful wailing resounds around you. You cannot pinpoint the origin of the wistful cries.
