Okay, so, apparently TRF wants to lose the old thread until such time as Dibs sees fit to return. So, as per his request, I have made a new thread. I, of course, don't see exactly why this is necessary, but I suppose it won't hurt anything to accommodate Turf. So, I guess this will just be a continuation of the prior thread with the old characters and we'll pick up where Dibs left off. I suggested that Noob DM this one, but being that he doesn't have any of the source material beyond what's on the internet, he declined. That being the case, if there are no objections, I guess I will be DMing this one. I won't have access to my books myself for another week or two, so if it's okay, I guess I'll be using a homemade campaign. And as far as the campaign goes, expect to see a lot of stuff that's not exactly D&D canon, because, as I said, I don't have my sourcebooks right now. Unless, of course, someone else wants to DM, in which case, I'd be more than happy to step aside. Unfortunately, I do not think that this game will be accepting any more players. This thread is here for the sole purpose of reducing clutter in the other. It will actually be a lot easier - it was getting to be a pain, navigating that other one with all the pages it had(we were almost at 4,000!). To start off, I'm going to request that we all post our sheets(I'll track mine down later) and if there is anyone who would like to DM or has any requests to that effect or which concern the next campaign, speak now or forever hold your peace. Cheers.
"Of course, right after I stick a dart up your-" Just as you two are speaking, the street door opens loudly, swinging almost to the wall in a sudden gust of wind. A short, pudgy man in a hooded cloak enters and looks furtively about. Seeing you, he nods his head and approaches. "Would ye be the ones of whom I've heard-noble travelers in search of adventure and profit?"
He speaks in a soft voice. "I am Gaspard deLouca, servant to Lord Spulzeer of Tethyr. I'm sure that you know of his great reputation?"
Otihand has heard of the Spulzeers. The Spulzeer family is a wealthy and powerful Amnian/Tethyrian family. Otihand knows that the Spulzeer family was once known as the Spellseer family, but they changed their name hundreds of years ago after one of the young members of the family was convicted for the kidnap and murder of over a dozen people. The aforementioned serial killer escaped from jail before he could be executed. Beyond that, he doesn't know much but that the current patriarch of the Spulzeer family, and, by extension, Castle Spulzeer, is Chardath Spulzeer, a powerful fighter.
O: "I am sorry. I know of the family's renown, but I haven't kept up with them, and as such, don't know the current patriarch."
"The current patriarch of House Spulzeer, as well as my master, is Chardath Spulzeer, of course!" Gaspard replies. "This intrigues me. You have heard of the family's renown of old, but not of its current leader. I suppose you must have heard of them in a book or something of the sort, eh? How far does your knowledge extend? Because many accounts of the Spulzeer family in historical records are grossly inaccurate and highly exaggerated."
O: "Ah, Chardath! Hear he is great in battle." He goes on to tell what he knows, neglecting the murder.
Well, keep in mind that the murder was hundreds of years ago. The Spulzeer who committed it obviously must have died a long time ago, whether or not he was executed. And other than knowing who Chardath Spulzeer is in passing, the murder is pretty much the extent of your knowledge. So basically all you said was what you put in quotations. Heh.
