Hi! This is Alexis again. As many of you AGers know, I have a writing thread called Alexis' Assorted Writings.

Well, now I have one for my doodles/ paintings/ anything else I somehow make that somehow qualifies as being art!

Here's my first one:

Hopefully it will work. Its well known that I suck at posting images.

@AlexisTigerSpice Awesome stunning art as always! And congratulatuons on the apprenticeship! That's fantastic! I just KNOW you'll do an outstanding job and amaze everyone. So, I have to ask... when will we see you shine in Ink Master then?

Am I correct in assuming you will be using the last fish drawing to combine with that image you were fiddling around with? The one with the bubbles?

[Edit] A rather weird typo fixed...

A few updates:
I am doing my first two tattoos in the shop tomorrow.
I am in the process of finishing my first legitimate commission and I have cranked out a few decent pieces in the past year or so. I'll post those and the materials used below.
Its a very exciting time for me right now, being a tattoo artist has been my dream job for a long time and now that its becoming an actual possibility I don't even know what to do with myself.

Thank you to those who have stuck around the past 7 years to see me grow as an artist. I appreciate the support and kindness from all of you. I still update this thread occasionally when I remember it exists but I will try to be better about giving you guys regular updates from here on.

And now on to the photos!

This is a Wendigo inspired piece. It was done on canson mixed media paper, 7x10in, with graphite, charcoal, and white and black ink. Its one of my few framed pieces, and is hanging in my livingroom. It took in total about 6-8 hours I believe.

This pieces is inspired by the pelican/gulper eel. I wanted to take a real, creepy animal and twist it into some real nightmare fuel. This is also on canson mixed media paper, 7x10in, with graphite and white and black ink. It took me about 4 hours so it was one of my quicker finished pieces but is still my favorite piece from this year.

This is the second iteration of this piece, its a thumbnail painting for a large 24x24in painting I was commissioned to dop. The client wanted pea**** colors and for me to stay with my beloved multi-eyed theme. The first version had very long, gangly tentacles and it took away from the piece so I fattened them up, shortened them, and then used a lightboard to make a final line drawing, which I have in my art room. I used the lightboard again to make this thumbnail and then swatched some paint and basically started throwing colors down. I used cheap art store watercolors, prismacolor watercolor pencils, then experimented with using thin layers of white acrylic to blend the watercolor pencil. It resulted in a relatively smooth blend and I was happy with the results. I then went in with black and white ink pens to try to get some more intense dark and light values in the piece. Its been a lot of fun, and I don't typically go with funky colors so the whole thing has been a bit of a learning process.

Thank you if you took the time to read this update!
