Europa Universalis FGR
A forum game remake about Europa Universalis... I had a better remake but all the files were lost, so I made a new one. The map took a few days to make, I started blank, only with provinces though. I look at it and see that it is not historically accurate, but whatever. If you want to know more about Europa Universalis, look it up. This post will probably be large.

A Short on Wars

Casus Belli: To start a war, you may need a casus belli, a valid reason for war. Declaring war without one will gain you mass negative infamy, some stability drop, and a few more bad things.

Peace Treaties: Peace treaties can end anyway they like, either white peace (which means nothing will happen in the peace treaty and the war will end) or they can end in total defeat and ceding of territory. As long every participating country agrees, the peace treaty can be passed.

------------------------------------------------------------

Type: What the army is composed of. (Artillery, Musket Men, etc.)
Attack: Offensive abilities.
Defense: Defensive abilities.
Maneuver: Moving abilities.
Organization: How well organized the army is and how well they follow orders.
Morale: Higher morale means chance of surrendering is low, lower morale means chance of surrendering is high.
Exhaustion: How exhausted the army is, too high exhaustion can kill or slow down armies greatly. Exhaustion lowers by resting.
------------------------------------------------------------

I hope the map isn't too big or small.

Lessons from Napoleon: The Power of the Levy

The Levy System, more commonly known as 'Conscription' allowed Napoleon to field large amounts of men at any given time. While other countries could only muster a few tens of thousands of troops, and would have to ally themselves with other nations to form any substantial force, Napoleon could use his vast corps d'armee to achieve many strategic goals. As he could always rely on having a steady stream of replacements, Napoleon could fight his battles with the knowledge that a loss would not mean defeat. His opponents, on the other hand, could not afford to lose any amount of men, as they could not afford to replace them.

TL;DR: I will get more.

Well, I wouldn't want to continue the battle with Italy right now, since Mav isn't posting.

Thanks.

How do cannons take out 30,000 people in one go? Thats a historical impossibility: At this point in history, cannons were incredibly expensive to make, even more expensive to use, and then weren't even that accurate. The big thing at the time was 'solid shot', which meant that the cannon ball would bounce along the ground taking out more people. If you've got cannons aimed at a mass of people, then they should take out a nice chunk. But 30,000 people? OP if you ask me.

Another thing I think needs to be addressed: Out of Character Information. For example, let say Loco trains 10,000 Horsemen. I see this, and figure 'Hey, he's probably going to attack me with those.' So then I go make 10,000 Pikemen to combat the horses. I've got the advantage now, because I went through and read through information that Italy wouldn't know. Again, I don't think its fair that Loco reads that I'm sending ships to raid his coast, and then he puts out a bunch of stakes to counter this. And given the extensive coastline of Egypt, its also impratical.

I'm done whining now. Given the complex nature this game has taken, it would be rather hard for anybody to have forseen all of this. Could you comment on this though, before I make my move?
