Then my freaking history book was wrong in saying that the politicians controlled the American military tactics of the war, while the generals just followed.

Also, even in a military sense, America lost. Why else would AMERICA form a cease-fire (quit)? Obviously not due to the will of the people... if it were that, then the war would have been shorter.

Bio: Joined the Army originally, and saw action in the beginning of the war as a regular Army soldier stationed with the Marine Corps. He had a buddy in the Marines who died, and McCallister got the guy's knife(thus how an Army dude ended up with a Marine knife). Determined to do better, McCallister applied for and was accepted to the special forces program. After a few months of training at Fort Benning and other special ops places, he was sent back out.
